Pechanga Arena San Diego located in the heart of Point Loma and just minutes from downtown San Diego leads indoor venue for concerts, sporting events, and special productions in the area. The PASD team is committed to delivering excellent service and exceeding expectations for clients and guests at every event.

SUMMARY

The Head Events Electrician is responsible for; implementing show specific requests specific to Pechanga Arena San Diego, including but not limited to 120–480-volt power distribution, lighting systems, energy conservation, cable management, assisting both front and back of house with power supply and load management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include the following:

• Inspect and assist in all events electrical work and wiring to ensure the facility meets safety standards.

 • Advise promoters, event coordinators, and other arena users on events electrical requirements.

• Assist with special event preparation, conversions, and post event needs, as requested.

• Possess understanding of the operational procedures, facility capabilities, industry terminology, event-related services, and technical requirements for the types of events anticipated at the facility.

• Demonstrate proper knowledge of all applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
• Understand and work from general instructions, specifications, blueprints, sketches, and preventative maintenance schedules.

• Demonstrate ability to carry out tasks in a reliable, productive, and expedient manner and be able to adhere to strict deadlines.
• Demonstrate knowledge of practices and procedures related to event set-up and conversions, typical methods and techniques for cleaning and maintaining the facility and proper use and care of hand power tools.
• Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form.
• Follow all policies/procedures, risk management, safety precautions, rules, regulations, and emergency procedures established at the facility.
• Work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule and produce accurate results.

Education and/or Experience   

• High School diploma or GED; experience in maintenance and repair of building electrical systems; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Graduate of an accredited technical school preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience with live events or as a touring electrician with shore power and lighting systems required.
• Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory experience role preferred.
• OSHA 30 Hour General Industry Certification is preferred.

• Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur.
• Perform manual labor for extended periods.
• Ability to work long and irregular hours which may vary due to functions and may include day, evening, weekends, and holidays.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is exposed to large public/private gatherings indoors/outdoors. Team Member will be exposed to outside weather conditions. Team Member may work in confined spaces. Team Member use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be required in certain situations.
• Team Member must comply with all Federal, State and Local regulations and published Company work rules as well as written instructions. The noise level in the work environment is typically low to moderate in office setting and moderate to high during events and around loud machinery.
• This is an onsite position that requires in-person collaboration with multiple departments and coverage of events from start to finish.
