Job Summary: The Ski & Snowboard Team Segment Head Coach oversees a specific age class, segment or sub-segment of a ski or snowboard discipline within Team Palisades Tahoe. The Segment Head Coach contributes to the overall success of Team Palisades Tahoe in accordance with the Mission and Vision as measured by the quality of the athlete and employee experience, retention, athlete success, and parent satisfaction. This position works directly with a Department or Age Class Manager.

This job is apart of Team Palisades Tahoe (TPT).

What is All Mountain Club?

The All Mountain Club Pilot Program is designed for athletes who will be 10 to 14 years old by December 31 of the winter season and are looking for a well-rounded skiing experience without an early focus on competition or specialization.

Our goal is to develop strong, versatile skiers through: 

  • Guided all-mountain skiing across a variety of terrain

  • Exposure to all aspects of the resort and mountain environment

  • Building confidence, independence, and mountain awareness

  • Creating lasting friendships and a positive team atmosphere

  • Fostering a lifelong love of skiing and the mountains 

Applicants must be 18 years of age.

Hourly:

The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of the Palisades Tahoe Resort, LLC’s hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Palisades Tahoe Resort, LLC’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives and many region-specific benefits.

Base hourly pay range: $24.00-35.99 per hour

Essential Job Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks include the following; other duties may be assigned:  

  • Responsible for successful oversight and implementation of specific segment or sub-segment (gender/age/ability/etc.) of a department discipline and/or age class.

  • Assist in the supervision and management of staff time & attendance

  • Contribute and conform to team athletic processes and philosophies

  • Work with Manager and other Head Coaches to develop annual training plan

  • Ensure individual athlete management programs are in place and overseen.

  • Be knowledgeable and stay informed on industry trends and competition and seek feedback from athletes, parents, staff and company personnel on quality of products and services.

  • Be fully aware of and support the mission, vision and goals of all aspects of our program, including Alterra.

  • Knowledge and execution of Department Operating Plan and Guest Experience System

  • Maintain a regular on-hill presence with direct involvement with daily programming and plans, working directly with Manager.

  • Participate in all staff training and meetings as required

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, talk, see, and hear. Must be capable of walking or standing 90% or more of a normal work shift. Must be capable of occasionally carrying, lifting, pushing or pulling up to 75lbs. Must capable of occasionally squatting, bending, kneeling, reaching, and balancing, able to climb ladders and shovel snow. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perceptions and the ability to adjust focus.

Working Conditions: 

Indoor/Outdoor: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee will frequently be exposed to extreme cold, wetness and/or humidity, and occasionally blizzards and extreme storm conditions. 

Hazardous Materials/Noise: The noise level in the work place is usually moderate. 

Equipment Used in Job: While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to wear eye protection, gloves, masks, helmet.

Education and Experience: 

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Fluent in reading, writing and communicating in English

  • US Ski & Snowboard Certification, PSIA/AASI, IFSA or equivalent

  • Prior Coaching Experience 

Preferred 

  • Supervisory Experience

  • Level 2/200 or higher relevant skiing certification

  • Efficient knowledge of Microsoft Office

  • National/International Competition Experience as Coach and/or Athlete

A Motor Vehicle Record review may be required as part of your job.
