Position Summary

The Hatchery Lead is responsible for supporting daily hatchery operations by leading team members, ensuring the efficient and accurate egg setting process, overseeing Embrex vaccination activities, and assisting supervisors in achieving production, quality, animal welfare, and safety goals. This role serves as a working leader who provides guidance, training, and support to hatchery personnel while promoting operational excellence and compliance with company standards.

Job Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in the poultry industry.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a lead or supervisory role.
• Demonstrated experience supervising, coaching, and directing employees.
• Strong understanding of biosecurity, animal welfare, and safety practices.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays as needed.
• Basic computer and recordkeeping skills.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. (This position requires the verbal and written understanding of the English language as it is necessary to effectively communicate with all levels of Team members.)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate daily activities of hatchery team members.
• Supervise Embrex vaccination operations and learn all related processes to become a subject matter resource within the hatchery.
• Ensure proper operation, sanitation, and maintenance of equipment associated with egg setting and Embrex systems.
• Support the Hatchery Supervisor in meeting hatchability, chick quality, production, and performance objectives.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements.
• Investigate and report operational issues, equipment problems, or process deviations.
• Maintain accurate production records and complete required reports.
• Promote a safe work environment and immediately address safety concerns.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
