Kia ora! We’re looking for a Deputy Treasurer to join our team based in Auckland.

As a New Zealand-owned bank with strong growth ambitions, we're looking for an experienced Deputy Treasurer to play a pivotal role in managing our funding, liquidity and interest rate risk strategies.

Working closely with the Treasurer and executive leadership team, you'll help drive strategic treasury initiatives that support sustainable growth, regulatory compliance and capital optimisation across the business.

What you’ll do

• Partner with senior leaders on balance sheet strategy and performance.
• Manage liquidity, funding and wholesale market activities.
• Support capital management and interest rate risk oversight.
• Contribute to Asset & Liability Committee (ALCO) reporting and decision-making.
• Build and maintain relationships with investors, banking counterparties and rating agencies.
• Provide treasury insights that influence business and strategic outcomes.
• Lead and develop Treasury capability within a high-performing team.

Leveraging significant banking and financial services experience, you're well positioned to act as the Treasurer's 2IC, drawing on your leadership experience, sound judgement and strategic expertise. As part of the Banking Group Treasury leadership team, you'll champion a culture of excellence, collaboration and continuous improvement.

You’ll have:

• Deep understanding of liquidity management, funding markets, capital frameworks and balance sheet management.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and risk management practices.
• Proven ability to influence stakeholders at executive level.
• Commercial acumen combined with analytical rigour.
• A collaborative leadership style and passion for continuous improvement.
• Not essential but CFA qualified would be ideal
