We’re looking for an experienced Graphic Designer who understands the art of editorial design and thrives on the pace and energy of a newsroom.
Working across The West Australian and The Sunday Times, you’ll bring news, sport, business and some of WA’s biggest stories to life through clever layouts, strong typography, striking visuals and engaging infographics. You’ll work closely with our editorial teams, balancing creativity with accuracy and tight deadlines to produce work seen by audiences across WA every day.
About the role:
- Designing and laying out our print products across news, business and sport.
- Bringing stories to life through engaging design and infographics.
- Keeping our mastheads sharp and consistent across print and digital.
- Collaborating with the wider team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Finding creative solutions while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Representing our brands with professionalism and creativity.
What you’ll bring:
- High proficiency in InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
- A strong understanding of print, typography and layout.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- The ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- The ability to quickly learn new skills and software.
- Experience in a busy news or publishing environment is highly regarded.
- An interest in current affairs, pop culture and/or sport, particularly AFL, is desirable.
