Summary of Job Duties:
The University of Arkansas at Monticello Residence Life Department is seeking a motivated and student-focused Graduate Assistant to join our team. This position provides hands-on experience in residence life, student affairs, student leadership, and community development while pursuing a graduate degree at UAM.The Graduate Assistant will assist with:
Supporting the daily operations of Residence Life
Supervising, mentoring, and developing Resident Assistants
Planning and implementing student programs and engagement initiatives
Responding to student concerns and supporting conflict resolution
Assisting with student conduct and community standards
Supporting Residence Life events, training, and departmental initiatives
Participating in an assigned on-call rotation
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
- Admission to and enrollment in an eligible graduate program
- Ability to maintain satisfactory academic standing
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work 20 hours weekly in the ResLife office
- Ability to live on campus and work evenings/weekends as needed
Preferred:
- Previous Resident Assistant or Residence Life experience
- Student leadership, programming, or supervisory experience
- Interest in pursuing a career in higher education or student affairs
