About the role
At Sulzer Birmingham Service Centre, we repair, refurbish and overhaul critical rotating equipment that keeps essential industries running. From pumps and motors to compressors, generators and turbines, our teams deliver world-class engineering solutions for customers across the UK and beyond.Based at our 82,000 sq. ft Birmingham Centre of Excellence, you'll work from one of the most advanced service and repair facilities in the UK. Opened in 2021 following a major investment, the site combines cutting-edge digital technologies, advanced machining capabilities and additive manufacturing, operating 24/7 to support customers when reliability matters most.
We're looking for a highly organised and computer-savvy Goods In Controller to take ownership of all incoming deliveries, ensuring goods are received, inspected, recorded and stored accurately. You'll be the crucial link between suppliers, stores and production teams, helping ensure materials and components are available when needed and that inventory records remain accurate at all times.
What You'll Be Doing
Receiving and inspecting incoming goods, materials and equipment
Checking deliveries against purchase orders and delivery notes
Recording receipts accurately within Microsoft Dynamics 365
Identifying and escalating shortages, damage or discrepancies
Ensuring materials are correctly labelled, stored and available for production
Maintaining accurate stock and inventory records
Supporting stores, purchasing and workshop teams with day-to-day operational requirements
Promoting high standards of housekeeping, quality and safety
What We're Looking For
Experience in a Goods In, Stores, Warehouse or Logistics role, preferably within an engineering or manufacturing environment
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
Confident using IT systems and technology
Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP or similar systems would be highly advantageous
Ability to work independently and prioritise workload effectively
Strong communication and organisational skills
Forklift licence desirable
