Mercury Plastics has been providing innovative thermoplastic solutions to a variety of markets including; appliance, automotive, construction, liquid dispensing, marine, medical, off-shore oil and plumbing since 1965. We are recognized as an industry leader in our ability to provide unique approaches to profile extrusion, injection overmolding and fabrication of thermoplastic parts.

Mercury Plastics provides PFAS-free manufacturing processes in extrusions and molded components. We are one of only a few companies in North America that has captive electron beam processing; including a 5 MeV electron beam accelerator, which has been in operation since 1999, and a recently added 10 MeV electron beam accelerator. What you will do  

As part of the Mercury Plastics Executive Leadership Team, the General Manager (GM) will work closely with the executive team to develop and implement business plans and strategies to ensure corporate objectives for the product categories are achieved. Key responsibilities include leading the entire strategy and operations for the business unit, P&L management, business development and developing multi-year strategic and financial plans for the business.  

How you will do it 

Operational & Strategic Leadership 

• Lead the development and execution of strategic business plans. Establish performance metrics and drive organizational alignment across all functions. The GM will also oversee Operations (manufacturing, engineering, supply chain & quality) where they play a key role in optimizing process efficiencies and continuous improvement efforts. Additionally, this leader will have P&L accountability and financial oversight of budgets, forecasts and financial reporting. 

Customer & Market Focus 

• Maintain strong relationships with key customers and develop new business opportunities for expanding custom products & solutions. There will be a major focus on expanding market share and growing revenue for the Electron Beam Processing business while continuing to maintain the core product portfolio.  

Team & Culture 

• Promote a culture of innovation, operational excellence, continuous improvement and employee engagement. As GM, you will lead cross-functional teams and mentor and coach other leaders to achieve both professional development and organizational goals.  

What we look for 

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business or related field  
• 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment 
• Proven track record of managing P&L and driving operational excellence 
• Strong understanding of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement and supply chain management
• Experience with sales and marketing strategy to drive profitable growth, expand market share, and identify new business opportunities
• Excellent team leadership, communication and organizational skills 
• Organizational skills
