Job Summary
To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Test Engineer located on Flex North.
Reporting to the Test Engineering Manager the Test Engineer Responsible for implementing and maintaining cost-effective methods of testing and troubleshooting systems, software, and/or equipment.
What a typical day looks like:
- Directs and/or coordinates electronic engineering and/or technical personnel in fabrication and design of testing and test control apparatus and equipment, or software and systems testing.
- Directs and coordinates electronic engineering activities concerned with development, procurement, installation and calibration of instruments, equipment and control devices required to test, and record test data.
- Interfaces and confers with scientific, engineering and technical personnel to resolve testing problems such as product or system malfunctions, incomplete test data, data interpretation or coding issues.
- Evaluates and interprets test data and prepares technical reports for use by electronic or software engineering, and management personnel.
- May develops or use computer software and hardware to conduct tests on electronic products and systems or software.
- Trains and instructs floor support, test technicians and test operators on test hardware and/or software, as well as problem solving techniques.
- Resolves test yield problems by performing evaluation of root causes, developing and coordinating corrective action measures and monitoring improvements.
- Perform and support equipment verification and integration in production.
- Create and maintain process documentation.
- Actively search for new technologies or procedures in the test sector.
- Defines conditions under which tests are to be conducted and sequences and phases of test operations.
- Develops and/or modifies test programs using various languages (i.e. Python, Lab View, Perl etc.).
- Develops instrument drivers.
- Develops and/or supports diagnostic tests at the card edge level.
- Designs and supports functional test hardware, computer platforms and interfaces.
- Develops test plans and procedures.
- Coordinates 3rd party development of functional test development,enhancements, test fixtures.
- Develops quotations for functional test hardware and software.
- Develops and/or supports quality comprehensive test programs.
- Designs, develops and/or supports environmental test programs, procedures and profiles
- Performs failure analysis on environmental test failures.
The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
- Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field.
- Experience in electronics test engineering within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of functional testing, environmental testing, diagnostic testing, and test system integration.
- Experience developing and supporting test hardware, fixtures, interfaces, and automated test equipment (ATE).
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, LabVIEW, Perl, or similar for test automation and data acquisition.
- Experience developing test plans, test procedures, and process documentation.
- Knowledge of instrumentation, calibration, data acquisition systems, and instrument drivers.
- Experience performing root cause analysis (RCA), failure analysis, and corrective action implementation.
- Familiarity with electronic troubleshooting at PCB/board level.
- Experience analyzing test yield performance and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ability to evaluate and interpret test data and prepare technical reports.
- Experience supporting NPI (New Product Introduction) and production test implementation.
- Understanding of manufacturing quality systems and statistical analysis methodologies.
- Experience coordinating external suppliers or third parties for test development projects and fixtures.
- Strong project management, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Experience training and mentoring test technicians, operators, and engineering personnel.
- Advanced English communication skills (written and verbal).
