Your Impact
As a Firmware Engineer I on the Platform Firmware team, you will join our Board Support Package (BSP) development efforts for current and next-generation Axon devices. You will work close to the hardware, developing and integrating the low-level software that enables new platforms and peripherals — from board bring-up and device drivers to system services, hardware interfaces, and platform validation. You will work with Firmware, Electrical Engineering, Product, Software, Manufacturing, and other embedded teams to deliver reliable device software.
Our firmware environments primarily use Embedded Linux on SoCs/SoMs, with Embedded Android and RTOS-based microcontrollers used across some product lines. Depending on the program, you may work with C, C++, Rust, Golang, or Python.
As a Firmware Engineer I, you are a focused problem solver. You break down and solve tasks end-to-end within a feature, build familiarity with the technology stack and foundational domain knowledge, and operate with regular oversight and guidance from the tech lead and more senior engineers on the team. Over time you begin to understand how your work connects to product and customer outcomes.
Where You’ll Work
Work Location: This role is based out of our Ho Chi Minh Office and follows a hybrid schedule. We rely on in-person collaboration and ask that team members work onsite Tuesdays through Fridays, with the flexibility to work remotely on Mondays, unless there is an approved workplace accommodation. We believe that connection fuels innovation, and our in-office culture is designed to foster meaningful teamwork, mentorship, and shared success.
Travel: Firmware engineering requires hands-on collaboration with Hardware Engineering. Travel to manufacturing locations may be required during board bring-up, hardware validation, manufacturing support, and other critical product milestones.
