Fire Suppression Design Engineer

What You Will Do

As a Fire Suppression Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and delivering fire suppression system solutions for a diverse range of customer projects. Working closely with sales teams, project managers, and customers, you will develop detailed system layouts and technical documentation using AutoCAD and Building Information Modelling (BIM) software. You will ensure all designs meet customer specifications, regulatory requirements, and industry standards while supporting efficient project execution. How You Will Do It

• Design fire suppression systems using AutoCAD and BIM software in accordance with project specifications.
• Produce detailed engineering drawings, calculations, material schedules, and technical documentation.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant fire protection standards, codes, and customer requirements.
• Collaborate with sales teams to support project handovers and clarify technical requirements.
• Engage directly with customers to understand operational needs and customise system designs.
• Review project specifications, contract documentation, and site information to develop accurate solutions.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure timely and efficient project delivery.
• Support design reviews and resolve technical queries throughout the project lifecycle.
• Maintain accurate engineering records and documentation.
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve design quality, efficiency, and project deliverables.

What We Are Looking For

Required:

• University degree in Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in fire suppression system design or a related engineering role.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and BIM software.
• Experience developing engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.

Preferred:

• Experience designing sprinkler, gaseous suppression, water mist, or special hazard fire protection systems.
• Working knowledge of NFPA, LPCB, FM Global, or other relevant fire protection standards.
• Experience within a customer-facing project environment.
• Professional engineering membership or progression toward professional accreditation.
