The Financial Crime Prevention Lead is a senior first-line role within Zodia Custody’s Group Financial Crime Compliance Operations team. The role will provide immediate specialist support across Customer Due Diligence, Enhanced Due Diligence, sanctions and PEP screening, transaction monitoring, blockchain analytics and on-chain investigations.

The role will lead complex and higher-risk case assessment, including partner custodians, CASPs, correspondent relationships and strategic partnerships, and will ensure material financial crime risks are investigated, documented, escalated and managed in line with regulatory obligations, internal policy and risk appetite.

A key focus will be leading blockchain investigations using Chainalysis or an equivalent platform, including transaction tracing, wallet analysis, graph-level review and assessment of direct and indirect counterparty exposure.

Key Responsibilities

·       Lead first-line financial crime risk management across onboarding, ongoing due diligence, screening, transaction monitoring, blockchain analytics and escalation activity.

·       Assess complex, higher-risk or unusual clients and relationships, including CASPs, partner custodians, correspondent relationships and strategic partnerships.

·       Lead complex screening alert investigations, including sanctions, PEP and adverse media alerts, and determine appropriate escalation to Compliance and/or the MLRO function.

·       Lead escalated transaction monitoring investigations, assess unusual activity and ensure investigation conclusions are evidence-based and audit-ready.

·       Conduct complex blockchain and chain analysis using Chainalysis or equivalent tools, including transaction tracing, wallet analysis, graph-level review and exposure assessment.

·       Lead Customer Due Diligence and Enhanced Due Diligence reviews, including ownership and control analysis, risk categorisation and relationship acceptance or continuation recommendations.

·       Provide first-line oversight and quality assurance, reviewing case decisions, alert dispositions, supporting rationale and system records.

·       Identify trends, control gaps and emerging typologies, support risk reporting and drive agreed process, system and control improvements.

Requirements

What We're Looking For

• 2+ years' experience in financial crime, AML, compliance or investigations.
• Strong knowledge of AML, sanctions, CDD, EDD and transaction monitoring.
• Hands-on experience with blockchain analytics and chain analysis.
• Experience within digital assets, banking, financial services or consulting environments.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to make clear, risk-based decisions.
