Department Overview

The Commerce Accounting Department handles accounting for the Commerce & Marketing Company. It is divided into nine sections based on business categories and oversees all aspects of financial accounting for the respective business units and subsidiaries.

Operating at the forefront of accounting, the department represents the financial accounting function amidst various business developments-such as new service launches and business restructuring. We collaborate with business stakeholders and specialized departments (including Legal, General Affairs, and Marketing) to build business processes and drive business growth.

This organization plays a vital role in business operations that enjoy high public recognition and significant social impact.

To sustain our business growth, we are seeking individuals with the potential to become core members of the accounting organization and eventually lead the team in a management capacity.

Position Details

You will initially handle accounting operations, with the expectation that you will eventually step into a managerial role responsible for managing the accounting organization, team members, and tasks, as well as reviewing the work performed by team members.

・Monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting for businesses within the Commerce Company

・Accounting, tax processing, and report preparation for subsidiaries

・Management of accounts receivable and accounts payable

・Evaluating changes to accounting treatments and processes in response to the launch of new services or modifications to business processes

・Tasks related to the implementation of sales management and accounting systems

・Driving digital transformation (DX) across accounting processes

Work Environment

・The Commerce Accounting Department consists of approximately 83 members

・Staff rotations are conducted in coordination with the Rakuten Group's corporate accounting and finance divisions

・Office attendance required 4 days a week

Mandatory Qualifications:

・Strong growth motivation in accounting field, career goals

・Experience in management work or willingness to challenge

・Bookkeeping 2nd class or higher accounting knowledge

・Basic Excel skills

Desired Qualifications:

・Monthly closing

・accounting DX experience, or willingness to challenge

・IFRS and tax expertise

・SAP experience

Even if you have no experience in a field, those who have a high sense of goals and willingness to challenge are welcome.
