Finance Officer - Foreign Reinsurance Branch (IIO – IFSC/GIFT City, India)

To manage the accounting, financial reporting, regulatory compliance, treasury, taxation, and financial control functions of the Foreign Reinsurance Branch operating as an IFSC Insurance Office (IIO) under the regulatory framework of the International Financial Services Centers Authority (IFSCA). The role will support compliance with IFSCA financial reporting, solvency, governance, and statutory requirements.

This position will be based in Ahmedabad, India location.

Work hours – 9:30 AM – 6:30 PM IST (5 days a week in office)

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

Financial Accounting & Reporting

·       Maintain accurate books of accounts in accordance with applicable accounting standards and IFSCA requirements.

·       Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

·       Manage general ledger, journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.

·       Coordinate month-end and year-end closing activities.

·       Ensure proper accounting of reinsurance premiums, claims, commissions, and reserves.

Regulatory Compliance

·       Support compliance with IFSCA regulations applicable to IIOs, including financial statement preparation and regulatory submissions.

·       Prepare and submit regulatory returns and management reports.

·       Liaise with auditors, regulators, actuaries, and compliance teams.

·       Support internal and external audits, coordinate audit reviews, and ensure timely implementation of audit recommendations.

·       Maintain documentation and records for regulatory inspections and audits.

Treasury & Cash Management

·       Monitor branch bank accounts and cash positions.

·       Manage investments, fund transfers, and liquidity requirements.

·       Support capital and solvency reporting requirements where applicable.

Taxation

·       Coordinate direct and indirect tax compliance.

·       Ensure timely filing of tax returns and statutory payments.

·       Liaise with tax advisors and authorities on assessments and audits.

·       Internal Controls & Governance

·       Implement and monitor financial controls and approval processes.

·       Ensure compliance with group finance policies and local regulations.

·       Support risk management, fraud prevention, and operational control activities.

Stakeholder Management

·       Coordinate with Head Office finance teams.

·       Support external auditors, actuaries, consultants, and service providers.

·       Provide financial analysis and management information to senior management.
