What You'll Do  

Rising Edge Group is seeking Field Engineer Co-ops to support the execution of high-voltage electrical infrastructure and EPC projects across the United States. This is a hands-on, field-based opportunity for engineering and construction management students to gain practical experience working alongside Project Managers, Superintendents, Engineers, and field teams on active utility-scale projects.

Co-ops will support project execution throughout the project lifecycle, from planning and procurement through construction, testing, commissioning, and closeout. Depending on project needs and the timing of the assignment, co-ops may have the opportunity to support projects for 3 months, 6 months or up to 1 year, gaining exposure to different aspects of field operations, project management, engineering, and construction.

Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:  

• Support Project Managers, Superintendents, and field teams with day-to-day project execution
• Review drawings, specifications, and project documents for constructability and field requirements
• Assist with tracking project progress, quantities, materials, and equipment
• Support RFIs, submittals, change orders, and other project documentation
• Prepare and maintain daily reports, progress reports, project documentation, and other required records
• Assist with scheduling and tracking work activities against project milestones
• Participate in field walks, inspections, coordination meetings, and project planning activities
• Support quality control activities and documentation to ensure work meets project specifications and requirements
• Support and maintain environmental compliance requirements and project documentation
• Assist with material procurement, receiving, inventory, and field coordination
• Assist with cost tracking, reporting, and project controls
• Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, engineering teams, and field crews
• Maintain accurate project records and daily field documentation
• Support testing, commissioning, and project closeout activities
• Assist with identifying and resolving field issues and communicating project needs to the appropriate team members
• Perform other duties as needed to support successful project execution

Requirements

What You'll Bring

• Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; relevant education, experience, or a combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Available for a 3-month, 6-month, or up to 1-year co-op assignment, with 6-month assignments preferred based on project and business needs.
• Strong interest in electrical infrastructure, power delivery, construction, or EPC
• Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and time-management skills
• Ability to work effectively in a field-based construction environment
• Willingness to relocate and/or travel to project sites as required
• Ability to work collaboratively with project teams, subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, preferred
• Familiarity with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, scheduling software, or other construction/project management systems is a plus
• Previous construction, engineering, utility, or internship experience preferred but not required
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Ability to meet the physical and environmental requirements of an active construction site
