ABOUT WEKA
WEKA is architecting a new approach to the enterprise data stack, built for the AI era. The WEKA Data Platform sets the standard for AI infrastructure with a cloud and AI-native software solution that can be deployed anywhere. It transforms legacy data silos into data pipelines that make GPUs, AI, and other performance-intensive workloads run faster, work more efficiently, and consume less energy.
WEKA is a pre-IPO, growth-stage company on a hyper-growth trajectory. We've raised $375M in capital from dozens of world-class venture capital and strategic investors. We help the world's most innovative enterprises and research organizations (including 12 of the Fortune 50), reach discoveries, insights, and outcomes faster and more sustainably.
We're passionate about helping our customers overcome complex data challenges to accelerate their innovation and grow their businesses. If you share our passion, we would love for you to join us on this exciting journey.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As WEKA's Field CTO for AI Infrastructure in the Americas, based in the San Francisco Bay Area, you will engage with the organizations building and operating the largest GPU environments in the world: neoclouds and NVIDIA Cloud Partners (NCPs), GPU-as-a-service providers, frontier model builders, hyperscalers, and AI-native enterprises moving training and inference into production. You will participate in their most consequential architecture decisions, spanning multi-tenant GPU cloud design, inference economics, and the memory and data layer that supports agentic workloads, translate those requirements into solutions and reference architectures on WEKA NeuralMesh, and establish WEKA as the data platform of choice for AI clouds.
This role is distinct from senior sales engineering. You will operate as a peer to customer CTOs and principal engineers, bring an informed perspective on the direction of GPU infrastructure, and carry the internal standing to influence product and engineering priorities when market requirements and the roadmap diverge. Deep expertise in an adjacent domain such as EDA, life sciences, media and entertainment, or financial services is valued, with AI workflows and the infrastructure that supports them as the primary focus. You will collaborate with the broader CTO Office, serve as the region's technical evangelist for WEKA in AI infrastructure, and report directly to WEKA's Head of Solutions Engineering.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
- Connect WEKA's neocloud, NCP, and AI infrastructure customers across the Americas to the broader WEKA team, alongside other members of the CTO Office.
- Partner with the GTM team to develop and deliver compelling technical presentations, demonstrations, and customer workshops that showcase WEKA's value proposition for AI training, inference, and multi-tenant GPU cloud workloads.
- Act as a trusted advisor to GTM teams and customers, providing deep technical expertise on how WEKA solves the architectural and economic challenges of operating GPU infrastructure at scale: multi-tenancy, GPU utilization, inference and token economics, and the data and memory layer beneath AI.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders across product, engineering, and marketing to align customer needs, technology strategy, and product roadmap, and advocate for the field when they are out of sync.
- Deliver advisory services to the field, working with WEKA's presales and post-sales organizations to drive successful outcomes.
- Provide oversight on large, complex neocloud and AI customer engagements across the region where appropriate.
- Champion technical innovation across functions inside and outside GTM, staying current on emerging GPU, networking, inference-serving, and agentic AI technologies and assessing their impact on the business.
- Cultivate partnerships with technology providers (NVIDIA and the NCP ecosystem, GPU and accelerator vendors, hyperscalers, server and networking partners, orchestration and inference-serving vendors) to address customer requirements and expand WEKA's reach and influence across the Americas.
- Represent WEKA at industry events, conferences, and workshops across the region, establishing thought leadership in AI infrastructure, neocloud architecture, and inference economics.
- Identify emerging market trends and technologies across AI infrastructure to inform product development and go-to-market strategy.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 15+ years of technical experience in relevant industries.
- Proven experience architecting large-scale AI infrastructure environments, including GPU compute, high-performance storage, and the networking and data pipelines around them.
- Hands-on experience in a senior technical role inside a neocloud, NVIDIA Cloud Partner, GPU-as-a-service provider, or hyperscaler AI platform, with credibility among the people who build and run those environments.
- Deep understanding of multi-tenant GPU cloud architecture: tenant isolation, scheduling and orchestration (Kubernetes, Slurm), high-performance networking (InfiniBand, RoCE), and the data layer that determines GPU utilization.
- Proven track record deploying and utilizing multiple AI frameworks and technologies across training and inference.
- Domain expertise in an adjacent vertical such as EDA, life sciences, media and entertainment, or financial services is preferred; AI workflows and infrastructure remain the primary focus.
- Demonstrated experience and proven skills as a technical evangelist, including public speaking, published technical content, and designing and running customer workshops.
- Ability to translate technical terms into business value for varied audiences, specifically across neocloud and AI cloud providers, foundational model builders, hyperscalers, and traditional enterprises adopting AI.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to hold credibility with a principal engineer and a CIO in the same day.
- Experience building and maintaining strong relationships with customers and partners.
- Comfortable with frequent travel across North America.
- A collaborative, results-oriented mindset with a strong work ethic and genuine passion for staying ahead of the technology curve.
