The Role
The Field Coordinator will report to the District Coordinator and will be required to work in close coordination with various team members from the state team, ensuring smooth alignment between field-level activities and broader program objectives. You will support the ISW Operations Team with the implementation of our India Safe Water program at the sub-district level and provide support to strengthen the implementation of the water treatment program. You will lead government advocacy efforts and training on Safe Water program operations, coordinate directly with the various stakeholders involved, flag progress and challenges to leadership as appropriate, and engage with government officials to ensure the program is implemented correctly. You will be responsible for overseeing the installation, operation, and coordination of designated water treatment sites.
Responsibilities
Government Advocacy ( 60%)
- Train and build capacity of sub-district/block/mandal officials to take over the program implementation.
- Assist the sub-district/block/mandal government in establishing water quality policies and tools and support in establishing sustainable implementation.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with senior officials at the sub-district, block, or mandal level, establishing yourself as a trusted and respected resource, while ensuring all such interactions are approved in advance by, and guided by, the state office and your supervisor.
- Represent EAII in engagement with contractors, including those focused on community engagement as they inform communities and local populations of the installed water treatment devices.
- Lead water treatment training and sensitizations for government officials, local partners, water service committees, site personnel, contracted vendors, and communities.
- Help inform a final recommendation and report to the state-level government and Jal Jeevan Mission on the performance and efficacy of the water treatment technologies at designated intervention points.
Stakeholder Engagement ( 20%)
- Coordinate the smooth participation of the different stakeholders in the field, such as contracted vendors, community leaders, and community members.
- Hold suppliers and contractors accountable for work, agreements, and warranties under contract.
- Perform all responsibilities as assigned from time to time by the DC or Sr. SPC, coordinate with other colleagues, and support other program staff.
Project Implementation ( 20 %)
- Provide technical, advisory, and coordination support to Sr. State Program Coordinators (Sr. SPCs) throughout the program, including water point verification, device installation and calibration, operations, and vendor coordination.
- Travel to multiple locations in allocated regions for around 15 working days a month, following our guidelines and program requirements.
- Facilitate access to water treatment sites for suppliers, contractors, consultants, information management firms, and organizational leadership.
- Support Sr. SPCs in collecting and managing program monitoring data through site visits, surveys, data coordination, and government data requests.
Requirements
Essential
- Experience in collaboration with government officials of Water or Health at the field, district, and block levels.
- Bachelor’s degree/diploma or higher, with 2–5 years of development-sector experience, preferably in WASH, with government or NGOs.
- Communication skills in Telugu and English. Understanding of local dialects following district will also be a required asset.
- Demonstrated experience working with and managing suppliers and contractors.
- Experience in program implementation at district, block, and community levels.
- A valid driving license and access to a 2- or 4-wheeler are required. You must arrange your own vehicle. Travel expenses will be reimbursed as per organizational policy.
- Willingness to work flexible hours - including occasional early mornings or evenings - to align with community and government schedules.
Desirable
- Experience with the functionaries and process of the PHED/RWSS system.
- Experience capacity-building government stakeholders at the district level and below.
- Experience managing presentations and reports consisting of varied data sets.

Position Location : This is a one year fixed-term employment role based in Andhra Pradesh. This is a location-specific role. Candidates should indicate their preferred location as Eluru, Kadapa, or Vizianagaram in the application questions.
Candidate preferences will be considered, but final placement will be based on organizational and business needs.
