Field Applications & Service Specialist – Norway

Business: ImmunoDiagnostics Division (IDD)
Location: Norway – Field based / Hybrid
Reports to: Manager, Field Applications Team, Northern Europe

How will you make an impact?

As a Field Applications & Service Specialist, you will help diagnostic laboratory customers use our Phadia™ systems and ImmunoDiagnostics solutions effectively and reliably.

This is a field-based position in Norway with hybrid responsibilities, combining customer-site visits with remote application support, training, troubleshooting, and service activities.

Your initial focus will be Field Applications support. You will train and support laboratory professionals, resolve application and workflow questions, and help customers get the best value from our solutions.

As your experience in the role develops, you will also contribute to field service activities, including preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, installation, and system upgrades.

You will work with colleagues across Field Applications, Service, Sales, Marketing, Technical Support, and our global Centres of Excellence.

What will you do?

• Train customers on Phadia instrumentation, assays, software, and laboratory workflows.
• Provide application and technical support remotely and at customer sites.
• Troubleshoot customer issues and support resolution of reagent-, assay-, and system-related complaints.
• Help customers improve laboratory workflows and implement effective processes.
• Support instrument and assay qualification activities when required.
• Participate in customer meetings, user groups, training events, and technical presentations.
• Work with local and global technical teams to resolve complex customer issues.
• Maintain accurate training, complaint, application, and service records in our CRM systems.
• Maintain and expand your knowledge of our instruments, assays, software, and diagnostic workflows.

As your service responsibilities develop, you will also:

• Perform preventive maintenance and planned service activities.
• Troubleshoot and repair laboratory instrumentation.
• Support instrument installations and commissioning.
• Perform software and middleware updates.
• Document service activities accurately and on time.
• Provide feedback to technical and product teams on instrument performance and customer experience.

You will follow applicable quality and regulatory requirements, company procedures, and documentation standards in all customer-facing activities.

What will you bring?

Required qualifications

• Fluent Norwegian, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers in a professional and technical environment.
• Good working proficiency in English for communication with Nordic and international colleagues.
• Ability to understand and explain scientific or technical information.
• Ability to work independently in a customer-facing field environment.
• Willingness and ability to travel regularly to customer sites throughout Norway.
• Willingness and ability to travel to other Nordic countries when customer or business needs require it.
• Valid driving licence.

Preferred qualifications

The following experience would be useful, but you do not need to meet every preferred qualification to apply:

• Experience working in a diagnostic or clinical laboratory.
• Previous experience in a customer-facing role, such as applications support, technical support, laboratory training, field service, or scientific sales support.
• Experience with laboratory instrumentation, immunodiagnostics, laboratory automation, or related diagnostic technologies.
• Experience training or supporting laboratory professionals.
• Familiarity with laboratory workflows, quality systems, or regulated diagnostic environments.
• Fluency or working knowledge of another Nordic language, such as Danish, Swedish, or Finnish.

You will use your technical knowledge to translate scientific and system information into practical guidance for customers.

You will have opportunities to build your expertise across both Field Applications and Field Service, gaining broader experience with our customers, diagnostic technologies, and service delivery model.

Training and support will be provided to help you develop the technical and service capabilities required for the role.

Working model and travel

This position is based in Norway.

Your working week will combine customer-site activities with remote support and home-based administrative work.

Travel within Norway is a regular part of the role. Travel to other Nordic countries will also be required to support customers, colleagues, training activities, and business needs.

Customer requirements may occasionally require flexibility in working hours and travel schedules.
