Position Summary:
This position is responsible for cleaning all items and surfaces in assigned areas and ensuring they meet Mohegan Sun’s standards of cleanliness.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities: includes but not limited to:
- Monitors and maintains the cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas
- Cleans floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing or vacuuming using the proper chemicals, tools and equipment
- Services, cleans and supplies restrooms
- Empties trash containers, ashtrays and ash urns
- Polishes brass surfaces
- Ensures the safety of assigned keys
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reports any damages to furniture, fixtures or equipment to the supervisor, as needed
- Carries and maintains proper cleaning supplies for assigned tasks
Minimum Education and Qualifications:
- Previous cleaning experience or ability to use cleaning equipment and supplies
- Must be able to communicate effectively with patrons and supervisors
Competencies: Incumbent will master the following competencies while in this position:
- Good verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques
- Performs job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy
Training Requirements:
- Completes EVS Training Module which includes the proper use of chemicals and safety procedures
- Knowledge of cleaning supplies, chemicals and equipment and their proper use
- Biohazard clean-up procedures
- Knowledge of proper infection control and blood borne pathogens procedures and precautions
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Must be able to work in a casino environment with smoke, loud noises and low lighting
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to stand, bend and walk large areas of the casino property for extended periods of time
- Must be able to work various shift and flexible hours
