The Role
Black Semiconductor is seeking a hands-on and flexible Equipment & Process Development Technician to support the installation, qualification, operation, maintenance, process development, and ramp-up of our FabONE semiconductor manufacturing facility.
You will work across CMP, wet cleaning, plating, and Graphene processes and equipment, supporting both R&D and manufacturing activities.
This is a flexible, multi-functional role where responsibilities will adapt to business priorities and FabONE needs.
Key Responsibilities
Support equipment installation, commissioning, qualification, startup, operation, and maintenance.
Perform preventive/corrective maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and equipment recovery.
Act as a first responder for equipment alarms, abnormal conditions, and OOC events.
Monitor tool health, equipment performance, and process conditions to maintain high uptime and reliability.
Support CMP, wet cleaning, plating, Graphene and Chemical supply systems.
Manage critical consumables such as CMP pads, diamond disks, filters, PVA brushes, plating consumables, and chemicals.
Support process development, engineering experiments, process qualification, characterization, and optimization.
Support Graphene transfer, wet processing, patterning, equipment operation, and process development.
Assist Process and Equipment Engineers with tool tuning, recipe optimization, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
Collect and document equipment/process data and maintain accurate maintenance, qualification, and process records.
Support development and improvement of SOPs, PM procedures, and equipment standards.
Follow all cleanroom, chemical handling, EHS, and contamination-control requirements.
Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Facilities, EHS, R&D, and equipment suppliers.
Support other technical activities as required based on business and FabONE priorities.
Your Qualifications
Technical degree, apprenticeship, technician certification, or equivalent practical experience.
3-5+ years of semiconductor equipment, process, manufacturing, or technician experience.
Hands-on experience in one or more areas: CMP, wet cleaning, plating, wafer processing, equipment engineering, process development, or chemical systems.
Strong hands-on troubleshooting and maintenance experience.
Basic knowledge of pumps, valves, filters, tubing, sensors, motors, vacuum, chemical/fluid delivery, and equipment controls.
Experience with process development, equipment qualification, calibration, or optimization is a plus.
Graphene or advanced materials processing experience is a plus.
Ability to learn and support multiple equipment platforms and technologies.
Strong problem-solving, teamwork, communication, and documentation skills.
English proficiency required; German is a plus.
Willingness to work hands-on in a cleanroom and support a fast-paced startup/new-fab environment.
