Role Summary

The Environmental Supervisor is responsible for verifying and overseeing compliance with environmental protection regulations, as well as supervising all activities related to Environmental Protection, in order to prevent and/or mitigate activities and/or events arising from the contract that may cause an impact on the environment.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and evaluate the contractual and regulatory requirements that the organization must comply with in terms of Environmental Protection.
  • Prepare, integrate, and submit to PEMEX the following environmental reports, in accordance with contractual and SSPA requirements:
  • o Monthly environmental report (within the first 5 days of each month).
  • o Original co-processing supporting documents, within 10 days after the completion of each well.
  • o Report on environmental conditions for compliance with environmental resolutions at the completion of each well.
  • o Bimonthly report of discharges related to notices of release of water-based drilling cuttings (RPIFBA) from wells under intervention.
  • o Monthly report of declarations of no discharges to sea (within the first 5 days of each month).
  • o Monthly and annual environmental protection programs.
  • o Notification of vessels providing transportation services for hazardous waste and special handling waste on the 15th, 25th, and 30th of each month.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with the environmental protection requirements established in the SSPA Annex and PEMEX guidelines.
  • Compile information to support monthly audits under Annex SSPA related to Environmental Protection (within the first 5 days of each month).
  • Manage and follow up on audits under the National Environmental Audits Program to obtain the Environmental Quality Certificate.
  • Manage and follow up on environmental permits and authorizations, with onshore environmental advisor including but not limited to:
  • o Registration number as a generator of hazardous waste and special handling waste.
  • o Permit for the management of hazardous waste and special handling waste.
  • o Hazardous waste and special handling waste management plan.
  • o Annual Operating Certificate (COA).
  • o Annual state waste report.
  • o Analysis of wastewater, potable water, and oily water.
  • o Concession title for the use of surface water.
  • o Wastewater discharge permit.
  • o Compliance with the conditions established in the aforementioned authorizations.
  • Supervise and ensure regulatory compliance for the comprehensive management of hazardous waste, special handling waste, and drilling cuttings, from generation through final disposal.
  • Request contractual and regulatory compliance information from suppliers and contractors.
  • Notify the corresponding authorities of environmental incidents and accidents.
  • Submit and demonstrate environmental compliance to the client and the corresponding authorities.
  • Analyze and report hazards that may pose an environmental risk within the facilities.
  • Identify and evaluate environmental aspects and significant environmental aspects arising from activities executed under contracts with the client communicate notices, updates, awareness initiatives, and provide talks and workshops on environmental protection within the organization.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Must complete and maintain 100% training compliance with the role’s Mandatory Training requirements, as per procedure COR-PRO-0073.
  • Preferably an Environmental Engineer or possessing certifications and training in the management of environmental legislation, contractual environmental compliance.
  • Previous experience working in the capacity as an Offshore Environmental Supervisor, (Previous experience in assigned contract with PEMEX).
  • Previous experience working on similar MODUs.
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written in English.
  • Solid knowledge of Environmental practices and local State Regulations.
  • Computer literate proficient in MS Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Strong presentation and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and to follow directions.
  • Ability to interact with diverse groups and know how to recognize and resolve conflict.
