We’re looking for an Entry-Level Software Developer to join a digital transformation program within the Northern Territory Government. This is a contract opportunity through to 12 February 2027, based in Darwin, NT, supporting the development, maintenance and operation of secure digital platforms. You’ll work alongside experienced technical professionals, gaining exposure to software development, systems administration and ICT operations.
Requirements
What You’ll Do
- Assist with the development, maintenance and support of applications.
- Support development, test and production environments.
- Assist with system configuration, patching, monitoring and routine maintenance.
- Support application deployments, releases and environment updates.
- Assist with user access and permissions.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and provide operational ICT support.
- Assist with testing and defect resolution.
- Maintain technical documentation and follow ICT security standards.
- Work closely with senior technical staff and broader project teams.
What You’ll Bring
- A qualification or near-completion qualification in IT, Computer Science, Software Development or a related field.
- Basic software development, coding, scripting or application support experience.
- Some experience supporting ICT systems or technical environments.
- Familiarity with Windows and/or Linux operating systems.
- Understanding of software development lifecycles and ICT operations.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to follow established processes, security requirements and technical standards.
- A collaborative, positive and professional approach.
