Function: Engineering Support

Duties: Bill of Materials

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Construct Bill of Materials (BOM) and nameplate information provided from cross functional areas.
• Update Engineering Change Notices and requests in Oracle to impact cross functional groups included but not limited to cost, production orders and inventory of all components.
• Actively engages in cross functional communication to ensure accuracy and timely creations and maintenance of BOMs and product information.
• Ensure Finished Goods is in compliance with Product Planning goals and plant product availability.
• Participate in all BOM related support for Design and Engineering.
• Coordinate information from Engineering, Design, Change Control, Regulatory Agencies and Product Planning for obsolete model/parts. (Cross functional areas including IT, Cost, Order Management).
• Evaluates all requests to update BOMs and Nameplates for compliance to customers' requirements and operating systems standards.
• Current Scope as Bill of Material Engineer
• Creates and maintains accurate multi-level Bills of Material (BOM) and Item Master records for finished goods.
• Supports order management, manufacturing, material requirements, and cost tracking.
• Updates nameplate and product data using CPID and OPI customer databases.
• Processes Integrated Product Development (IPD) Final and Limited ECN (Engineering Change Notices).
• Manages the BOM box for high-priority BOM changes with a 24-hour resolution target.
• Trains new hires on ECN processes, validates outputs, and provides feedback.
• Coordinates across Engineering, Design, Change Control, Regulatory, Product Planning, IT, Cost, and Order Management.
• Ensures timely and accurate BOM and product information updates through cross-functional communication.
• Updates ECNs and Oracle records to impact cost, production orders, and inventory.
• Supports compliance with product planning goals and plant product availability.

• Create a new Documented Information related documents and processes (e.g., work procedures, forms, documented information and process flow) based on the documentation guidelines.
• Updates an existing Documented Information related documents and processes (e.g., work procedures, forms, documented information and process flow) based on the documentation guidelines.

Additional Functions

Performs other functions as may be deemed necessary by and needed to deliver the output guided by the company, site and department’s vision, mission, and employee policies.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND

·        Bachelor’s Degree graduate of any Engineering or Engineering Technology course

WORK EXPERIENCE OR TRAINING

• At least two (2) year experience in doing Bill of Material and Item Master related work.
• At least two (2) years’ experience gained from supply chain, engineering and manufacturing related business, plant operations.
• Knowledge in Oracle is a plus.
• Background in offshore service operations is an added advantage.
• Ability to assume cross-trained function in the event of low utilization.
• Ability to assume back up functions in the event of skills and capacity constraints.
• Ability to build long lasting relationships with internal & external customers, and work within a team setting.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills
• Knowledge on computer applications such MS Excel (Intermediate) and other Business Systems and Tools
• Must be able to effectively and independently function while maintaining a positive energy level in an environment of constantly shifting demands.

OTHER WORK CONDITIONS

• Flexible, able to work on own initiative, deal with more than one project at a time, can work under pressure and tight deadlines, and prioritize tasks accordingly.
• Willing to work on night shift and mid-shift.
