An Employee Experience Specialist is an HR professional who designs and implements programs—such as surveys, recognition initiatives, team building activities, and communication strategies—to improve employee satisfaction, retention, and workplace culture. The role is critical for enhancing employee experience, improving retention, and fostering a positive organizational culture. In addition, the role helps translate employee feedback and organizational priorities into practical action plans that strengthen engagement, retention, communication, and workplace culture. By aligning engagement initiatives with employee needs and company objectives, specialists help organizations maintain motivated, productive, and satisfied teams.

Responsibilities:

Essential Functions

Design and implement engagement programs

• Develop initiatives such as recognition systems, wellness programs, team-building activities, and culture-enhancing events that align with organizational goals.

 

Conduct surveys and analyze data

• Administer employee engagement surveys, focus groups, and feedback mechanisms; interpret results to provide actionable insights for managers and leadership.

 

Advise managers

• Help managers understand engagement data and offer guidance on specific actions to improve team morale and productivity.

 

Program evaluation and reporting

• Track the effectiveness of engagement initiatives, maintain records, and adjust strategies based on measurable outcomes.

 

Project management

• Facilitate and report on HR projects as assigned.

 

Policy and culture development

• Collaborate with HR and leadership to develop policies and practices that support employee well-being, inclusivity, and retention.

Communication development

• Develop and support employee-facing HR communications that help employees and leaders understand engagement priorities, survey timelines, wellbeing resources, recognition opportunities, and related employee experience initiatives.

Change management

• Support change management efforts by helping translate HR priorities into clear messaging, practical leader resources, implementation plans, and follow-up tools that promote adoption across departments.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, psychology, organizational development, or a related field.

Experience:

• Background in HR, employee engagement, or organizational development.
• Experience with survey tools, data analysis, and program management is highly valued.

License/Certification:

• N/A

Skills/Knowledge and Abilities:

• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, empathy, problem-solving, leadership, team-building, and the ability to influence change. 
• Familiarity with digital engagement platforms, survey software, and internal communication tools, and all Microsoft tools.
• Ability to build and maintain collaborative and effective working relationships at all levels of the organization.
• High attention to detail.
