The position has been established to support ASSO Group's offshore equipment manufacturing and service activities through the assembly, wiring, inspection, testing, commissioning, maintenance, and overhaul of electrical systems and equipment.
The primary focus of the role is the manufacture and testing of Low and Medium Voltage electrical panels, electrical cabling of offshore equipment, overhaul of electric motors, and maintenance of offshore electrical equipment, ensuring high-quality workmanship, compliance with engineering documentation, company standards, and project schedules.
Responsibilities
- Assemble and wire Low Voltage and Medium Voltage electrical control panels in accordance with electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings.
- Perform electrical installation, wiring, and integration of offshore machinery and subsea equipment.
- Carry out overhaul, maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, and testing electric motors.
- Perform maintenance, repair, and refurbishment of offshore electrical equipment and associated control systems.
- Perform continuity, insulation resistance, functional, and pre-commissioning tests prior to Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).
- Troubleshoot wiring faults, component failures, motors, and electrical control circuit issues during assembly, overhaul, and testing.
- Read and accurately interpret electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, cable schedules, terminal plans, and panel layout drawings.
- Ensure all electrical work complies with project documentation, quality standards, and applicable electrical regulations.
- Assist with stock control, identification, and handling of electrical materials and components.
- Report technical issues and propose manufacturing improvements to Engineering and Workshop Supervisors.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workshop in accordance with Health & Safety procedures.
- Support on-site installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and offshore service activities when required.
Requirements
- Degree or Technical Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in electrical panel assembly, panel wiring, or industrial control panel manufacturing
- Strong understanding of electrical control circuits, Low Voltage and Medium Voltage power distribution systems.
- Experience in electric motor overhaul, inspection, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with Low Voltage and Medium Voltage switchgear, transformers, Variable Frequency Drives (preferably Siemens SINAMICS), PLC hardware, and protection relays will be considered an advantage.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, terminal plans, and General Arrangement (GA) drawings.
- Experience using electrical test equipment, including multimeters, insulation resistance testers (Megger), continuity testers, and phase rotation meters.
- Experience in marine, offshore, industrial automation, or heavy equipment manufacturing will be considered an advantage.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety procedures and safe working practices.
- Willingness to travel and support on-site installation, commissioning, maintenance, and offshore service activities when required.
