Job Summary:
The Electrical Integration QC Inspector is responsible for verifying the quality, accuracy, and completeness of electrical installation and integration activities within e-houses, modular electrical buildings, switchgear assemblies, power distribution units (PDUs), relay panels, control panels, and associated electrical systems. This position performs in-process and final inspections of electrical equipment installation, cable and conductor routing, terminations, grounding and bonding, panel interfaces, wire identification, electrical connections, and applicable test documentation. The inspector verifies compliance with approved electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, bills of materials (BOMs), customer specifications, manufacturer instructions, applicable codes, and company quality procedures. The inspector works closely with Electrical Production, Electrical Engineering, Testing, Assembly QC, and the QC Supervisor to identify discrepancies early, prevent nonconforming work from advancing, verify corrective actions, and ensure electrical assemblies are ready for designated testing and final release.
Job Duties:
- Review approved drawings, wiring diagrams, BOMs, customer specifications, and manufacturer instructions; confirm materials are correct, prior inspections are complete, and open nonconformances are dispositioned before work proceeds.
- Inspect installation of switchgear, PDUs, transformers, relay and control panels, and other equipment for correct parts, ratings, orientation, mounting, clearances, and service access.
- Inspect wire and cable routing, support, segregation, bend radius, protection, identification, and terminations against wiring diagrams and cable schedules.
- Verify grounding and bonding connections, conductor sizes, surface preparation, and torque documentation; coordinate continuity and bonding tests with qualified personnel.
- Verify panel wiring, device tags, terminal numbering, and labels against schematics and terminal plans; coordinate point-to-point verification and functional checks.
- Confirm required inspections are complete before testing; witness or verify specified electrical tests and review results, test equipment calibration, and acceptance criteria.
- Ensure failed tests are documented, affected work is held, and corrective action and retesting are completed.
- Inspect for electrical safety hazards, missing barriers or covers, required labeling, and debris or foreign objects in enclosures; immediately escalate critical safety concerns.
- Identify and document defects, place nonconforming work on hold, and initiate NCRs with drawing references, photographs, and measurements or test results.
- Notify the QC Supervisor, Electrical Production, and Engineering of significant defects or drawing conflicts; do not independently approve substitutions or deviations, perform energized testing, or authorize energization outside approved qualifications and procedures.
- Verify completed rework and identify recurring defects for corrective action.
- Complete inspection checklists, travelers, torque records, NCRs, and test documentation, maintaining traceability to equipment, project numbers, and drawing revisions.
- Confirm hold points and records are complete before work advances; perform final integration inspections before testing, customer inspection, or release.
- Communicate inspection status, open issues, and release restrictions during daily production meetings.
