Electrical Field Service Engineer
Location: Ohio-based | 75%+ Travel
Job Type: Full-Time

We are looking for a technically skilled Electrical Field Service Engineer to install, commission, troubleshoot, and service critical power distribution equipment, primarily in data center environments. This position is suited for someone who enjoys hands-on problem solving, field work, and working independently while collaborating with engineering and service teams.
Key Responsibilities
Field Installation & Startup
- Install and support startup of electrical power distribution systems
- Assist with commissioning, system verification, and functional testing
- Configure and troubleshoot HMIs and control interfaces
- Verify equipment operation and compliance with applicable electrical codes and safety requirements
- Troubleshoot and repair 3-phase power systems, transformers, high-voltage components, switchgear, and distribution equipment
- Diagnose electrical issues using a systematic, root-cause approach
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, and mechanical drawings
- Troubleshoot 24V, 120V, and 480V systems, including basic PLCs, fuses, breakers, and transformers
- Act as the onsite technical point of contact
- Work with engineering and internal teams to resolve field issues
- Train equipment operators and maintenance personnel
- Communicate system conditions, findings, and recommended next steps clearly in person, by email, and through service reports
- Prepare accurate and detailed service reports
- Record parts usage, labor hours, and service activities in the company system
- Identify recurring equipment issues and provide feedback for product and process improvements
- Assist with service procedures, technical documentation, training materials, and internal knowledge resources
- Perform other assigned duties as needed
