The Salvation Army is seeking a passionate and dedicated Education Support Officers (ESO) to join our collaborative teaching team at Lawnton. This is an exciting opportunity to support young people in achieving their personal best while helping create a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.

Working closely with teaching staff, you will provide classroom, small-group, and one-on-one support to students, helping them build confidence, develop skills, and achieve meaningful educational outcomes.

What You'll Be Doing

• Support student learning in classroom, small group, and individual settings.
• Work collaboratively with teachers to enhance student engagement and achievement.
• Foster a positive learning environment and encourage a growth mindset.
• Monitor, model, and support social and emotional learning.
• Assist in the development and implementation of positive behaviour support plans.
• Maintain accurate student records in line with TSA procedures and legislative requirements.
• Support NCCD data collection and documentation.
• Participate in professional development, training, and regular supervision.
• Undertake additional duties as required by the school leadership team.

What You'll Bring

Essential Qualifications & Experience

• Certificate III or Certificate IV in Education Support (or other relevant qualification).
• Experience supporting young people who have disengaged from mainstream education.
• Ability to motivate and re-engage students in learning and future pathways.
• Understanding of the impact of trauma on young people and trauma-informed practice.
• Experience working with students in Years 7-12.
• Strong collaborative approach and ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Experience supporting vulnerable young people and families.

Mandatory Requirements

 Current QLD Blue Card (Working with Children Check) or the ability to obtain one prior to commencement.

Salary will be aligned with the Education Schools General Staff Award and will be based on the successful candidate's skills and experience.
