About the Role & Team 

Working with the VP of Unscripted Original Production, this role supports the development and production of original unscripted entertainment for the TWDC Europe & Africa, with a focus on Disney + and the General Entertainment service. The responsibilities also include full commissions as well as co-productions, ensuring timely, efficient, on-brand delivery of new and returning long-form unscripted series and formats at the maximum level of quality permitted by budgeted regional 5YP production assumptions. Supports creative and production oversight (including sourcing ideas, talent, editorial and production input) for greenlit productions as well as ongoing development. In addition to Regional/UK productions supported directly by this person, works closely with local teams to help ensure local unscripted productions meet brand/business/creative objectives.

This role will be based in our London Hammersmith office, 4 days a week, with either a Monday or Friday working from home.

What You Will Do  

• Support the development and production of original unscripted television entertainment for TWDC Europe & Africa, with a focus on Disney + and General Entertainment.  

• In collaboration with the VP Unscripted Original Production, help shape the strategy for unscripted original production needs at both a regional and local level, across Europe & Africa and with local responsibility for the UK.  

• Ensure strong collaboration with the wider team and with local programming and production teams to identify unscripted projects for either local or regional production, providing supervisory executive production support on local projects.  

• Responsible for delivering projects on budget and within the required timeline.  

• Manage/develop relationships with the unscripted creative and production community (unscripted indies, producers, showrunners, directors, presenters, on-screen talent, agents, etc.) and 3rd party production companies across Europe, with a focus on the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, and Netherlands (but not limited to these).  

• Day to day management and support of the development team, executive producers and production managers, ensuring clarity in the brief, constructive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and delivery of top-quality original unscripted productions.  

• Ensure the quality level of unscripted originals is in line with the brands.  

Required Qualifications & Skills 

• Significant experience in unscripted development and production experience at a European/International level necessary  

• Commissioning experience would be a plus  

• Executive production experience on unscripted projects necessary  

• Proven track record of unscripted projects developed and executive produced necessary  

• Multi market experience is desirable  

• Team management experience is desirable  

• Clear-thinking, straightforward approach to creative problem-solving and decision making  

• Strong ability to build working relationships with other Disney departments and executives, and with external partners  

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with knowledge of at least one other European language preferred  

• Detailed working knowledge of unscripted entertainment development and production processes  

• Time management and organizational skills  

• Strong and established relationships with the unscripted creative and production community.
