Overview of Role

Fenergo is seeking an experienced leader to drive operational excellence across our Product and Engineering organisation.

Reporting to the VP of Product Operations, this role is central to how we decide what to build, align product investment with business and customer priorities, and provide transparency on roadmap decisions and delivery progress.

A key requirement is the ability to design and establish operational processes from the ground up, translating complex or undefined business needs into practical, scalable ways of working.

Working closely with Product, Engineering, Finance and customer-facing teams, the successful candidate will design and continuously improve our product operating model, enable effective planning and prioritisation, and ensure stakeholders have access to trusted roadmap information and decision-support capabilities.

The role also oversees R&D financial governance, including tax credits, grant funding, time reporting and capitalisation.

We are looking for a commercially aware, process-oriented leader who combines strategic thinking with strong execution, can influence senior stakeholders and brings structure, clarity and simplicity to a fast-moving SaaS product organisation.

Please note that this role is a 12 Month Fixed Term Contract

  • Lead operational governance of the product roadmap, strategic initiatives and customer commitments.
  • Ensure high-quality, accurate roadmap and initiative information across product management and delivery systems, establishing clear data ownership and governance standards.
  • Enable stakeholders to self-serve reliable roadmap information, delivery status and priorities.
  • Develop and continuously improve dashboards, reporting and decision-support capabilities for Product, Engineering and Executive Leadership.
  • Ensure delivery risks, dependencies and prioritisation trade-offs are proactively identified, escalated and communicated.
  • Drive transparency and consistency in roadmap reporting and stakeholder communications.

R&D Funding & Financial Governance

Ensure effective governance, accurate reporting and audit readiness across R&D financial processes.

  • Coordinate R&D tax credit and government grant submissions, claims and supporting documentation.
  • Oversee R&D time reporting and software development capitalisation processes.
  • Partner with Finance to ensure accurate reporting, appropriate controls and audit readiness.
  • Drive continuous improvement and automation of financial governance processes.

Continuous Improvement & Automation

Improve the efficiency and scalability of Product Operations.

  • Leverage AI and emerging technologies to improve operational efficiency and decision support.
  • Champion continuous improvement and adoption of new ways of working.
