Sobre esta vaga de Director, Personal Lines Programs na AIG
Join us as Director, Personal Lines Programs to play a key leadership role that will drive business growth.
This role provides active governance and direct oversight for a key Managing General Underwriter (MGU) partner. This role is the primary safeguard for the program’s systemic integrity, ensuring that the MGU’s execution across a diverse & complex portfolio of products aligns with AIG’s standards for regulatory health and operational excellence.
The role focuses on rigorous oversight of the MGU’s internal control environment and the operational infrastructure supporting a $1.7B portfolio. The ideal candidate brings a strong operations background and the technical intuition to ensure that compliance mandates and IT controls are translated into system reality - guaranteeing that the MGU partner remains compliant, profitable, and positioned for growth.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Regulatory & Compliance Governance
- Mandate Accountability: Act as the central point for regulatory requirements issued by the AIG Compliance Officer. Ensure the MGU is not only aware of these mandates but has successfully integrated them into their programming and workflows.
- Audit Management: Lead the oversight of both internal and external (regulatory) audits. Ensure the MGU has the right practices in place to pass audits and proactively remediate any operational gaps.
- Milestone Tracking: Utilize project management expertise to hold the MGU accountable for critical timelines, including rate filings, form & contract updates, and defect resolution.
Controls & Systemic Integrity Oversight
- Rating Integrity & Quality of Issuance: Oversee the MGU’s internal processes to ensure rating integrity. Validate that the MGU is conducting proper testing and that all rate updates are implemented correctly within their systems.
- Systems & IT Controls: Audit the MGU’s systems and controls to ensure the operational framework is sound. This includes verifying the accuracy of system-generated outputs and the robustness of the MGU’s IT control environment.
- Process Validation: Act as the final check on MGU operational changes, ensuring that systemic updates do not create financial leakage or regulatory risk.
Performance Monitoring
- Results Analysis: Monitor program performance to ensure the business remains compliant, profitable, and on a growth trajectory.
- Root-Cause Inquiry: Conduct "deep dive" reviews into business results. When performance fluctuates, investigate & identify whether shifts are driven by underwriting trends, system errors, or market conditions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Executive Operational Track Record: 10+ years of progressive experience in Insurance Operations, Compliance, Project Management, or MGU/Carrier Oversight.
- Systemic Proficiency: A strong understanding of how rating engines and policy administration systems function, with the "technical intuition" to audit complex systems and mechanics.
- Project Management Excellence: Proven ability to track high-stakes deliverables across multiple work streams and hold external partners accountable to deadlines.
- Analytical Curiosity: A natural drive to look beneath the surface of data to find operational inconsistencies or opportunities for improvement.
- Governance Mindset: Strong experience in managing compliance audits, IT controls, and quality assurance frameworks.
- Strategic Communication: Proven ability to hold external partners (MGUs) accountable while fostering a productive, growth-oriented relationship.
- Specialized Product Knowledge: Working knowledge of both Admitted and Excess & Surplus Lines (E&S) products, rates, and regulatory requirements.
- Data Fluency: Strategic ability to leverage analytical tools and complex reporting to derive business insights and evaluate emerging insurance technology solutions.
