Summary of Job Duties:
Basic Functions Under the direction of the Dean of Career and Workforce Education, this full-time, 12-month position provides leadership, strategic guidance, and operational oversight for Professional Skills Training, Customized Training for Employers, and career development services. This position serves as a primary liaison to regional employers, industry partners, and community organizations to drive regional economic growth. In coordination with academic deans who oversee specific programs, the Director manages offerings such as Customized Training for Employers and specialized initiatives, like Firefighter Rookie School. Additionally, the Director leads data collection and reporting for Professional Skills Training while directing student career counseling, job placement initiatives, and employer engagement strategies. The Director leads comprehensive career guidance initiatives, including administering career assessments and advising students on career paths, and directs employer-student connections via on-campus recruitment, job fairs, industry visits, and digital job platforms.

Position Duties
40% Employer Engagement & Regional Economic Development
Actively engage regional industry partners, chambers of commerce, and economic development boards to identify workforce trends and implement Customized Training for Employers. Develop external partnerships, secure funding opportunities, build MOUs, and deliver public presentations promoting UACCB programs.
35% Program Leadership, Data & Operational Oversight
Coordinate, design, and evaluate Professional Skills Training programs. Oversee initiatives such as Customized Training for Employers and Firefighter Rookie School in coordination with the appropriate academic deans. Lead all data collection, tracking, and reporting for Professional Skills Training to ensure compliance and quality. Hire, supervise, and evaluate instructional staff.
25% Career Services & Student Advising
Lead comprehensive career guidance initiatives, including administering career assessments and advising students on career paths. Direct employer-student connections via on-campus recruitment, job fairs, industry visits, and digital job platforms.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge
Workforce & Economic Development: Deep understanding of regional workforce trends, Customized Training for Employers models, and economic development strategies.
Data Management & Reporting: Knowledge of data collection methodologies, performance metrics, and reporting frameworks for Professional Skills Training.
Career Counseling & Assessment Tools: Working knowledge of career development theories, skill assessment administration, and occupational pathway mapping.
Regulatory & Accreditation Standards: Knowledge of state educational reporting agencies, grant management, MOU structures, and compliance frameworks.

Public Representation & Communication: Ability to deliver compelling presentations, represent the college professionally across diverse community networks, and negotiate collaborative agreements.
Data Integrity & Reporting: Ability to systematically collect, analyze, and report accurate performance data for Professional Skills Training initiatives.
Student Advocacy & Guidance: Ability to provide structured guidance to help students translate educational outcomes into direct employment opportunities.
Qualifications:
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in Higher Education, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, or a related field.
- Minimum of three years of professional experience in workforce development, professional skills training, career services, or business outreach.
- Demonstrated experience developing community partnerships, managing program data/reporting, and supervising staff or instructors.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, presentation tools, and learning/career software platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in Higher Education, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, or a related field.
- Experience working within a community college setting.
- Experience coordinating workforce programs in conjunction with academic divisions.
- Proven track record in securing grant funding or workforce development state funds.
- Experience creating customized training for employers and inter-agency agreements
