Position Overview

The Director of Internal Medicine will serve as the clinical and operational leader for Aizer Health’s Internal Medicine Department. This role combines direct patient care, and leadership responsibilities, including provider supervision, quality oversight, and program development. The Director will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality, evidence-based primary care for patients 18 years of age and older and across all conditions.

This is an excellent opportunity for a physician who is passionate about community health, enjoys leading teams, and is motivated to build and shape a high-performing Internal Medicine Department. This role will entail about 80% clinical and 20% administrative responsibilities. Physicians completing residency training and exceptional early-career physicians with demonstrated leadership potential are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Program Oversight

• Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of primary care providers, including performance evaluations, onboarding, and clinical development.
• Oversee internal medicine workflows, quality metrics, and clinical standards utilizing data to ensure excellence in patient care. Focus on data-driven decision-making.
• Collaborate with executive leadership on specialty services and community outreach programs.
• Develop and implement clinical protocols, best practices, and evidence-based guidelines with a special focus on preventative care.
• Partner with nursing, care coordination, and administrative teams to optimize patient access and operational efficiency.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, imaging, and labs.
• Provide patient education, preventive care, and follow-up management.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR.

Collaboration & Community Impact

• Work closely with specialties to ensure coordinated care.
• Participate in community health initiatives, screenings, and educational programs.
• Support Aizer Health’s mission to provide accessible, culturally sensitive care to underserved populations.

Qualifications

• Board certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine.
• Active New York State license (or eligibility to obtain).
• DEA license or ability to obtain post hire.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Current Chief Residents, recent residency graduates, and early-career Internal Medicine physicians with demonstrated leadership experience are encouraged to apply.
• Experience working with diverse or underserved communities is a plus.
• Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
• Strong interpersonal skills and positive approach to teamwork

Pay & Benefits:  

• $300,000-$325,000 base pay
