Purpose

FWD’s GenAI Digital Delivery team is focused on designing, testing and delivering GenAI initiatives for FWD Group and regional markets in collaboration with other key internal teams in the delivery of GenAI Digital Solutions.

By being current with evolving AI technologies and practices, establish a and maintain a new GenAI platform as the critical technical framework and foundation for all GenAI digital initiatives for FWD.

Key accountabilities

• Reporting to VP, GenAI Digital Delivery

• Lead and manage the new development capability for FWD GenAI tech stack Core delivery team

• Lead and manage a team of experienced and senior developers to drive the new development platform for FWD GenAI core tech stack

• Lead the technical design and development of the FWD core GenAI Tech stack, setting up the open-source program to enable cross development teams to integrate with the core platform growth.

• Lead and manage conversations with senior stakeholder on the detailed attributes of the core GenAI platform benefits, consult and lead the integration points, and negotiate technical design adaptations across the regional markets, and country level senior technical leads.

• Architect, lead and oversee the design and implementation of complex multi-system solutions aligned with Group Innovation strategy

• Responsible for leading the tech roadmap in collaboration with the Digital Product Manager for GenAI core tech platform portfolio.

• Lead and maintain GenAI development policy and guidelines and adherence to responsible AI compliance and best practice.

• Provide leadership and influence as a key leader in developing and maintaining the tech/digital culture that encourages a growth mindset, problem solving collaboration across functional teams, innovative and impactful solutions, and delivery excellence.

• Provide thought leadership on emerging technology advances, particular to GenAI, and champion the application of the trends into core delivery processes.

• Lead and support rapid prototyping and DevOps initiatives (related to GenAI) for Group and country markets.

• Manage and be able to lead conversations with cross-functional senior stakeholders across FWD Countries and Group C-Suite Executives to align on solution requirements and cross-team resources where required.

• Lead and coach knowledge transfer on product development and architectural design guidance to local development and application teams and provide guidance across teams

• Architect design of complex multi-system solutions and services

• Drive mobile, web and server-side architecture and overall development; whilst overseeing the implementation to ensure it is in alignment with the strategy

• Lead, Plan and document technical specifications for features or system design

• Work closely with digital product managers and UX/UI designers to build features that align with our customer needs and business objectives.

• Comprehensive understanding of the FWD technical and digital ecosystems, cross dependencies at both group and country detail levels to ensure effective GenAI technical solutions and delivery.

Qualifications / experience

• Degree in engineering, Masters preferred, major in computer science

• 15+ years of experience within technology, application development, architecture applications.

• 5+ years experience working in a multi country role, preferably within either MNC companies or startup environments.

• Strong technical acumen, with knowledge of AI technologies, machine learning algorithms, data analytics, and cloud computing.

• Software development experience in two or more general purpose programming languages, preferable Python related to GenAI experience

• Proven knowledge of industry leading frontend frameworks like React, Vue or Ember

• Expertise in building secure, scalable RESTFul web services

• Extensive experience with applying and coaching agile development methodologies, including the incorporation of Test Driven Development (TDD) and CI/CD

• Experience leading digital product development teams

• Deep experience with cloud technologies and building serverless applications and platforms, managing costs and scale

• Experience delivering multi-lingual/internationalized solutions – preferably in Asia.

• Exceptional leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop high-performing teams.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas and concepts in a clear and concise manner.

Knowledge & technical skills

• Proven experience in Frontend and backend development frameworks and languages (e.g., Python, Java, Angular, Vue, React, ReactNative, NodeJS)

• Hands-on knowledge of key testing frameworks and tools (i.e. Spring Boot. Java, Selenium, Cucumber)

• Proven of experience in designing, building, refactoring and releasing native apps and web applications

• Significant experience and knowledge in design and development of GenAI frameworks and components (LLMS, RAG, Fine Tuning, Prompt Engineering) with high volumes of data 

• Experience with solutions integrations and management of NoSQL DBs and Vector Databases

• Proven experience working in agile environments and cross functional teams

• Experience with Docker/Kubernetes

• Proficient in Cloud technologies (AWS, Azure)

• Proficient in API solutions and optimisation withing the solutions architecture for improved experiences

• Integration/Solutions architect capabilities related to the applications responsible

• Proficient in data analysis and applying insights into tangible outcomes that improve relevant technical and business performances

• Able to lead native applications (iOS, Android, or hybrid) and develop it fully - preferred

• Experience with TDD, pairing, code reviews, and other techniques to maintain high-quality code and resiliency.

• Familiarity with Security, Accessibility, Site Speed optimization, Cross-browser /Cross-platform UX Design is desirable

• Strong relationship management skills, particularly in building and communicating & delivering messages to senior leadership

• Confident in working closely with senior leaders across both technical and business teams

• Strong in large project management, vendor and stakeholder management
