About RouteThis
RouteThis is on a mission to revolutionize technical support. We build AI-powered solutions that help Internet Service Providers and Smart Home companies solve connectivity and WiFi problems before the subscriber ever needs to call.
The Role
RouteThis is 10 years in and moving from a SaaS business to an AI-native one. That shift changes the shape of the P&L, the way revenue is recognized and the questions leadership needs Finance to answer. The Director, Finance leads the function through it.
This is an FP&A-led role. The priority is planning, forecasting and cash, with Finance acting as a partner in business decisions rather than a function that reports on them afterwards. The core planning model and reporting structure are being put in place now. The Director will come in as that work lands, understand how and why it was built, and own it from there. There is still plenty to shape, including finance rhythms, spending approvals and forecasting cadence.
This role reports to the Chief Operating Officer, who leads Finance for the company and presents to the board. The Director prepares the finance materials that go to the board and leads the Financial Controller day to day. It is a hands-on role in a lean, AI-enabled team.
What You'll Do
FP&A. Build and maintain the live weekly forecast across ARR by product line, expense and cash, and lead the annual budgeting process.
Business partnership. Act as a thought partner to the COO and CEO, bringing forward-looking analysis into strategy and business planning before decisions are made.
Reporting and close. Own the monthly and quarterly close, including the SaaS versus AI revenue and P&L split, and prepare board and investor materials in partnership with the COO.
Cash and treasury. Manage runway, covenants, AR and AP, collections and foreign exchange exposure.
Team and rhythms. Lead the Financial Controller and design the internal finance rhythms the company runs on: collections, spending approvals and forecasting cadence.
Governance. Support audit readiness, insurance review and internal controls as the company scales.
Cross-functional partnership. Partner with Sales, Customer Success and Professional Services on unit economics and pricing model support.
AI and tooling. Use AI and modern finance tools to keep a small team efficient, and keep improving how the function works.
What You Bring
CPA, CA or CMA designation.
Seven or more years of progressive finance experience, with meaningful time in FP&A rather than primarily a controllership or close-focused track.
Experience in a SaaS or subscription business. Exposure to more than one revenue model, or to usage-based revenue recognition, is a strong asset.
Experience preparing board and investor materials and cash forecasts in close partnership with a CEO, COO or CFO.
Fluency building live, rolling financial models.
Comfort operating without a CFO in place and taking ownership of a newly built model and process.
A hands-on, practical approach. You are as comfortable in the detail as you are in a leadership conversation.
Comfort with AI tools and an interest in using them more.
A clear, confident communicator with the CEO, COO and board.
Why RouteThis
Ownership. Direct visibility to the CEO, COO and board, with real ownership of the finance function.
Timing. A 10-year-old business with a product that works, moving from SaaS to AI-native. You will see the numbers change and help lead the company through it.
Team. A close, highly motivated team that prefers to promote from within.
Time off. Every long weekend, the Friday is off too. The company closes for a week between Christmas and New Year.
