Role/Team overview 

The Digital Advertising Sales Controller is responsible for driving digital advertising revenue growth across Sky Media’s digital, social, video, programmatic and audio portfolio. Reporting to the Head of Digital, the role leads the Digital Sales team, develops strategic agency and client partnerships, and ensures Sky Media remains at the forefront of digital innovation in the advertising market.

What you’ll do 

As Digital Advertising Sales Controller, you will lead the day-to-day commercial delivery of Sky Media Ireland’s digital sales strategy. You will maximise revenue opportunities, identify new monetisation routes, support major agency and client relationships, and work cross-functionally to develop market-leading digital advertising solutions.

Key responsibilities include:

• Deliver digital revenue targets and commercial growth.

• Drive sales of Sky Media’s digital portfolio and priority products.

• Identify new revenue opportunities across agencies and clients.

• Oversee forecasting, pipeline management and revenue reporting.

• Lead, coach and develop the Digital Sales team.

• Partner with internal teams to deliver integrated client solutions.

• Deliver best-in-class client service and commercial outcomes.

• Drive operational improvements and align with Sky Media UK & Ireland priorities.

What you’ll bring  

Essential criteria:  

• Proven success in digital media sales, revenue growth and delivering commercial targets.

• Experience developing sales strategies, managing pipelines and delivering accurate revenue forecasts.

• Strong knowledge of digital advertising, including Programmatic, Online Video, Social, Display and Addressable solutions.

• Experience leading, coaching and developing high-performing sales teams.

• Strong commercial acumen, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.

• Proven ability to develop and grow strategic agency and client relationships.

• Ability to use data, campaign performance and market insights to inform commercial decision-making.

• Excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills.

• Strong understanding of digital advertising products, trends and emerging opportunities.

• Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable skills and experience: 

• Strong understanding of the Irish media and agency landscape.

• Experience selling premium video, streaming or broadcaster digital advertising solutions.

• Experience with Programmatic Guaranteed and Private Marketplace (PMP) trading.

• Experience launching new digital products, sponsorships or commercial partnerships.

• Knowledge of ad technology, campaign measurement and attribution solutions.

• Ability to drive process improvement and operational efficiency.

How you’ll work 

We've adopted a hybrid working approach to give more flexibility on where and how we work. The hybrid working expectations for this role are 3 days in the office per week. 

Your office base  

Burlington Plaza is the home of Sky Ireland, a central, well-connected base for our Dublin teams. We’re just a 20-minute walk to Dublin’s city centre with connections via Dublin Bus, Luas and DART. Our nearest train station is Grand Canal Dock.
