About the role
We're looking for a Deputy AML Compliance Officer to support the oversight, development and ongoing effectiveness of our Financial Crime Prevention framework, covering AML/CFT, sanctions compliance and fraud prevention. This is a second-line compliance role, working closely with the AML Compliance Officer (AMLCO) to keep the framework effective, risk-based and aligned with Lithuanian and EU regulatory requirements.
You'll provide independent oversight and advice, assess Financial Crime risks and controls, contribute to regulatory interactions and support reporting to senior management and the Management Board. The role combines regulatory expertise, risk assessment, stakeholder collaboration and ownership of key Financial Crime Prevention initiatives across the company.
What you'll do:
- Support the AMLCO in developing, maintaining and enhancing the Financial Crime Prevention framework
- Establish and maintain policies, standards, methodologies and controls in line with regulatory requirements and the Company's risk profile
- Perform second-line monitoring and testing of control design and operating effectiveness, identify deficiencies and oversee remediation
- Perform and support enterprise-wide Financial Crime risk assessments, as well as assessments of new products, services, processes and material changes
- Provide independent second-line advice on Financial Crime risks, regulatory requirements and mitigation measures, including in complex or escalated matters and where the Company's risk appetite needs interpreting
- Act as an escalation point for suspicious activity: assess escalated cases, file SAR/STR reports with the FIU and handle FIU and law enforcement requests
- Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on the framework
- Prepare reporting to senior management and the Management Board on risks, control effectiveness, deficiencies and remediation progress
- Support regulatory inspections, audits and interactions with supervisory authorities
- Contribute to Financial Crime Prevention training and awareness across the company
What we're looking for:
- 4+ years in AML/CFT or Financial Crime Compliance, including a senior or second-line compliance role in a financial institution or other regulated entity
- Practical understanding of the AML/CFT compliance function within the three lines of defence model
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Business or a related field
- Strong knowledge of Lithuanian and EU AML/CFT requirements and broader Financial Crime regulation and standards
- Experience assessing Financial Crime risks, controls and compliance frameworks, and giving practical advice on complex or escalated matters
- Good understanding of suspicious activity identification, investigation, escalation and SAR/STR reporting
- Strong skills in drafting, reviewing and maintaining policies, procedures, risk assessments and other compliance documentation
- Ability to critically assess processes and controls, identify deficiencies and make clear, practical recommendations
- Tech-savvy, comfortable working across multiple internal and external systems and data sources
- Excellent professional Lithuanian and English, written and spoken
- Ability to advise and constructively challenge stakeholders at all levels
- Ownership mindset: you manage several priorities and initiatives at once, collaborate well and make independent, well-reasoned decisions
Nice to have:
- Experience as a Deputy AMLCO, Deputy MLRO or in a similar second-line Financial Crime Compliance role
- Experience with enterprise-wide Financial Crime risk assessments
- Experience in compliance monitoring, control effectiveness assessments, thematic reviews or similar second-line assurance work
- Exposure to regulatory inspections, audits or direct interaction with supervisory authorities
- AML or Financial Crime Compliance certification (ICA, CAMS or similar)
- Practical experience with sanctions compliance and fraud prevention frameworks
