Data & Analytics Engineer

Business Line Description:

NXP’s Design Enablement team supports global design groups with EDA flows related to semiconductor chip development.  The team supports both digital and analog EDA tools as well as other initiatives to help automate and optimize development of chips in NXP’s portfolio.

Job Summary:

Looking for a highly motivated individual to be part of an Analytics team focused on improving and optimizing our semiconductor development flows and compute utilization across NXP.  This role will provide an opportunity to work with many cross-functional teams such as design teams, flow developers, IT, finance, and more.  Typical work will involve using the AWS cloud platform develop, automate and maintain data pipelines feeding operational analytics, opportunity analyses, forecasting and prediction engines.    We are looking for candidate with at least 3+ years of experience in a data engineering role.

Data & Analytics Engineer Role skills:

• Development and operation of "big data" reporting pipelines, from source to end-user

• Able to work with demanding customers and deliver solutions that anticipate requirements, able to manage customer requirements and plan data analysis projects

• Cloud data platform experience, AWS preferred

• Athena, RDS, Glue, Cloud Formation, Spark, Lambda, S3, EC2, ECS AWS skills

• Experience in Tableau, PowerBI, or other BI platform desirable, particularly in automating these tools

• Experience with AI coding assistants and agentic AI workflow tools a plus

• Experience with open-source data engineering tools such as DBT and Dagster desirable

• Strong SQL skills

• Experience in cleaning and rationalizing data

• History of drawing and presenting conclusions from complex data sources - able to use tools to tell a compelling story

• Strong python scripting language skills, experience with Pandas and Boto3 libraries desirable

• Good feel for and ownership of data quality, able to anticipate problems

• Develops solutions with an eye toward long term maintainability

• Comfortable with basic software engineering processes (CM, CI, Release Mgt, Ticketing workflows)

• Semiconductor experience a plus

• Appetite for learning new tools and skills
