Role

As a CDD Analyst at Pax2pay, you'll work closely with the Onboarding Manager to bring new customers onto our platform, and take ownership of ongoing due diligence for our existing customer base — ensuring we meet our regulatory obligations at every stage of the customer lifecycle. Your core responsibilities will include initial and ongoing due diligence checks (AML, KYB, and screening for PEPs, sanctions, and adverse media), alongside supporting transaction monitoring to identify and escalate suspicious activity. 

This 1st line role sits in the Onboarding Team, working closely with the wider operations team, Sales, and Risk and Compliance across the UK and Lithuania to deliver a seamless and compliant onboarding experience for our customers. You’ll play a key part in ensuring we maintain high standards of accuracy, efficiency, and customer care throughout the onboarding journey.

What you’ll be doing

CDD Checks

• Communicate with customers to collect required documentation and clarify missing or incomplete details.
• Verify customer identification, business registration, and ownership structures in line with Pax2pay's and regulatory standards.
• Independently review documentation and perform KYC/KYB checks in accordance with Pax2pay's onboarding procedures and regulatory requirements, submitting completed checks to the Onboarding Manager for final sign-off.
• Perform KYC refreshes (e.g., annual or risk-based) to keep customer data accurate and compliant.
• Review and action ongoing screening matches (PEPs, sanctions, and adverse media) generated on existing customers, escalating confirmed hits in line with Pax2pay's risk and compliance procedures.
• Prepare comprehensive KYC/KYB evidence packs for regulatory and audit purposes.

Transaction Monitoring

• Monitor customer transactions on an ongoing basis to identify unusual, suspicious, or high-risk activity in line with Pax2pay's AML procedures.
• Investigate and clear system-generated alerts, escalating genuine concerns to the Compliance team with supporting rationale.
• Conduct periodic reviews of customer transaction behaviour against their expected activity profile, flagging discrepancies for further review.
• Maintain clear records of monitoring decisions and escalations to support audit and regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to the ongoing improvement of transaction monitoring rules and thresholds based on findings and emerging risk patterns.
  
  

Documentation and Record Management

• Ensure all customer documentation is accurately stored and maintained in accordance with internal compliance and data management standards.
• Maintain and update the CRM onboarding pipeline to ensure accurate tracking of customer status and progress.
• Prepare onboarding summaries and progress updates for key stakeholders.
• Keep customers informed throughout the onboarding process, providing timely updates and guidance as required.

Customer Onboarding Support

• Collaborate with internal teams, including Commercial and Compliance, to resolve onboarding or CDD-related queries efficiently.
• Work with the Onboarding Manager to identify and implement improvements that enhance the efficiency and overall customer onboarding experience.
• Support the Onboarding Manager with other onboarding related tasks where required.
  
  

What we need

• Experience in a client due diligence role within financial services.
• Proven experience performing KYC/KYB checks for business clients, including reviewing corporate structures, beneficial ownership, and company registration documents.
• Strong practical understanding of risk-based approaches to onboarding and customer due diligence.
• Good understanding of UK (FCA) and European regulations and financial industry compliance standards.
• Experience using onboarding and CRM platforms (e.g., HubSpot or similar) would be advantageous.
