Job Description:

• Serves as primary communication liaison between clients, family members, managed care representatives, and behavioral healthcare personnel.
• Assures the continuity of patient care upon completion of the assessment by assisting in the implementation of the referral recommendation.
• Provides therapeutic and educational services to patients, family, staff, and community.
• Appropriately assesses suicide, violence, and elopement potential.
• Facilitates appropriate milieu management within the emergency departments and medical units.
• Responds to potentially dangerous situations with low-level interventions to avoid harm to patients and staff.
• Participates in higher-level interventions, including take-downs when necessary. Provides quality and timely assessment and referral services, incorporating diagnostic skills and state-specific regulations.
• Develops and offers safe and clinically appropriate disposition recommendations to medical personnel and clients.
