  • Employment Term: Maximum term part-time (3 days per week) until 30 June 2027

  • Remuneration: $53.43 per hour + Super + NFP Salary Packaging (save tax and increase your take home pay)

Your part in our UnitingCare team 

We are currently seeking a compassionate and experienced Counsellor to join our Parenting Orders Program team to support individuals and families experiencing separation, high conflict and emotional stress.

This position will be based in Mackay. Some evening work will be required.

This role involves:

  • Providing assessment, counselling, psychoeducation, referrals, case management to parents.

  • Providing support to children and families through referrals and case collaboration.

The role will Include completing risk assessments and safety planning with people experiencing domestic and family violence as well as adhering to organisational processes and procedures to manage client risk as part of the case management process and client service delivery.

What makes a difference for us?

  • A minimum of Bachelor Level Degree in Psychology, Social Work or Behavioural Science from a recognised tertiary institution

  • Eligible for membership with APS; AASW or PACFA

  • Current Queensland Drivers Licence

  • Suitability Card for Child Related Employment (Blue Card)

  • Willingness to undergo a criminal history check
