About the role
Marsh People & Investments, part of Marsh’s India, Middle East & Africa business, is seeking a talented Counsel to join our regional legal team in Amman.

We will count on you to
- Provide practical legal advice on a wide range of corporate and commercial matters supporting Marsh and Mercer businesses in the Middle East
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, subcontracts, vendor agreements, and related legal documents in line with business objectives
- Support stakeholders on contentious matters, including disputes, pre-litigation issues, employment matters, and commercial concerns
- Manage external counsel on complex legal matters, including instructions, progress tracking, and review of legal outputs
- Assist with the end-to-end handling of E&O claims, including triage, investigation, resolution, closure, and trend analysis
- Support internal investigations, document preservation, matter intake, document review, reporting, and records management
- Stay current on relevant legal and regulatory developments and assess their implications for the business
- Identify legal and commercial risk and help develop practical strategies to mitigate it
- Contribute to training, awareness, policy development, and process improvement across the LCPA function
- Assist with responses to RFPs and other business development initiatives where legal input is required
- Manage your workload effectively in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities and deadlines
What you need to have
- Recognised legal qualification and admission to practice in Jordan, another Middle East jurisdiction, and/or a common law jurisdiction
- 3–5 years of post-qualification experience, ideally in a law firm or in-house legal team
- Strong experience in contentious matters and litigation, particularly commercial and employment disputes
- Proven ability to draft and negotiate contracts with a clear understanding of legal and contractual risk
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and drafting skills
- The ability to work independently, use sound judgment, and manage competing priorities
- Excellent written and spoken English
