The Corporate Trainer is responsible for designing, delivering, and continuously improving training programs that build employee skills, support onboarding, and strengthen organizational performance. In addition to core training functions, this role also owns new hire onboarding administration, employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, surveys, and culture-building activities, delivering a seamless and engaging employee experience from pre-employment through onboarding and throughout the employee lifecycle. The Corporate Trainer plans and facilitates learning sessions across technical, functional, and soft-skills topics, partners with department leaders to identify training needs, coordinates onboarding and engagement programs, and evaluates program effectiveness to ensure learning and employee experience initiatives align with business goals. This role works closely with HR, hiring managers, department leaders, and subject matter experts to build a culture of continuous learning, strong onboarding, and organizational engagement, while ensuring compliance with company policies and HR processes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Training Design & Development
Design, update, and maintain training curricula, modules, and materials for onboarding, technical skills, compliance, and soft-skills programs.
Develop training aids such as manuals, presentations, job aids, e-learning content, and assessment tools.
Partner with subject matter experts and department leaders to translate business and role requirements into effective learning content.
Keep training content current with company policies, industry best practices, and evolving business needs.
2. Training Delivery & Facilitation
Facilitate engaging classroom, virtual, and on-the-job training sessions for new hires and existing employees.
Deliver onboarding and orientation training in coordination with HR Operations.
Conduct skills training, leadership development, compliance training, and refresher courses as needed.
Adapt facilitation style and content delivery to different learning styles and audience levels.
Serve as the primary point of contact for participants during training programs.
3. Training Needs Analysis
Conduct training needs assessments in partnership with department leaders and HR to identify skill gaps.
Analyze performance data, feedback, and business objectives to recommend relevant training interventions.
Prioritize training initiatives based on organizational impact and urgency.
4. Evaluation & Continuous Improvement
Administer post-training assessments, evaluations, and feedback surveys to measure training effectiveness.
Analyze evaluation results to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
Track training completion rates, competency outcomes, and program ROI.
Prepare reports and recommendations for HR and business leadership.
Continuously refine training content and delivery methods based on feedback and results.
5. Learning Administration
Maintain accurate training records, attendance, and completion status within the LMS or HRIS.
Schedule training sessions, coordinate venues/logistics, and manage training calendars.
Monitor compliance with mandatory training requirements and certification renewals.
Assist in maintaining and updating training guides, resources, and the training content library.
6. Internal Communications
Prepare announcements and communications related to upcoming training programs, learning initiatives, onboarding, holidays, and employee programs.
Develop newsletters, employee communications, and HR/training campaigns.
Maintain training and onboarding content within the LMS or HRIS.
Promote participation in training and HR initiatives through various communication channels.
Coordinate with hiring managers and department leaders on training schedules and role-specific learning paths.
7. New Hire Onboarding
Manage the end-to-end onboarding process for all new hires.
Coordinate pre-employment requirements, onboarding schedules, and documentation.
Conduct or facilitate new hire orientation sessions.
Ensure timely completion of onboarding tasks, system access, equipment coordination, and HRIS enrollment.
Monitor completion of mandatory onboarding courses, handbook acknowledgment, company policies, and compliance requirements.
Serve as the primary HR contact for new hires during their onboarding period.
Continuously improve the onboarding experience based on survey results and feedback.
8. Employee Engagement
Plan, organize, and execute employee engagement programs, celebrations, wellness activities, and company events.
Develop initiatives that promote company culture, collaboration, and employee morale.
Coordinate recognition and appreciation programs including service awards, employee appreciation activities, and incentive programs.
Partner with department leaders to implement engagement strategies across teams.
Monitor participation and recommend improvements to increase employee involvement.
9. Employee Surveys & Feedback
Administer onboarding surveys, engagement surveys, pulse surveys, and employee satisfaction surveys.
Analyze survey results and identify trends, concerns, and opportunities for improvement.
Prepare reports and recommendations for HR leadership.
Track action plans resulting from survey feedback.
10. Employee Experience
Support initiatives that improve the overall employee journey from onboarding to offboarding.
Coordinate welcome kits, onboarding materials, and employee communications.
Assist in implementing culture-building initiatives aligned with company values.
Promote HR programs, policies, and benefits through effective communication.
11. Continuous Improvement
Recommend improvements to onboarding processes, training programs, and employee engagement initiatives.
Benchmark HR and learning best practices, and introduce innovative employee experience and training initiatives (e.g., blended learning, microlearning, gamification).
Assist in HR projects related to culture, employer branding, employee development, and retention.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Education, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience
At least 2 years of experience in corporate training, learning and development, instructional design, HR Operations, employee engagement, onboarding, or a related HR function.
Experience facilitating training sessions, workshops, orientation programs, or employee events.
Experience using LMS and HRIS platforms is preferred.
