Job Description

The Core Team Member represents their functional area within a cross-functional product development, sustaining engineering, or business initiative team. The role is responsible for providing functional expertise, driving execution of assigned deliverables, identifying and mitigating risks, and ensuring alignment with project objectives, quality standards, regulatory requirements, and business goals. Core Team Members actively participate in project planning, decision-making, and execution throughout the product lifecycle

Responsibilities

Project Leadership and Execution

• Serve as the primary functional representative on cross-functional project teams.
• Participate in project planning, reviews, and decision-making activities.
• Own and deliver functional commitments in accordance with project schedules and budgets.
• Support achievement of project objectives, milestones, and business deliverables.

Functional Expertise

• Provide subject matter expertise and guidance for assigned discipline (Software, Systems, Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing, Clinical, Cybersecurity, etc.).
• Ensure functional requirements and constraints are considered during project planning and execution.
• Review and approve deliverables within area of responsibility.

Risk and Issue Management

• Identify project risks, dependencies, and potential obstacles.
• Develop and implement mitigation plans.
• Escalate critical issues and support resolution activities.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Collaborate effectively with engineering, quality, regulatory, operations, marketing, and business stakeholders.
• Facilitate communication between project teams and functional organizations.
• Support alignment of technical, regulatory, and business objectives.

Compliance and Quality

• Ensure compliance with applicable quality system requirements, regulatory standards, and company policies.
• Support design controls, risk management, verification, validation, and documentation activities as applicable.
• Promote a culture of quality, patient safety, and continuous improvement.

Communication and Reporting

• Provide regular status updates on assigned deliverables.
• Communicate project impacts, decisions, and risks to functional leadership.
• Participate in design reviews, management reviews, and project governance meetings.

Preferred Requirements:  

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Life Sciences, Business, or related field.
• Relevant experience within medical devices, healthcare technology, or a regulated industry.
• Strong project execution and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to influence and collaborate across multiple functions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of quality systems and regulatory requirements is preferred.
