Contract Specialist
Fully Remote
Salary: $100,000
Key Responsibilities
· Maintain clear organization of all active contracts (including MSAs), contract terms, pricing tiers, reporting, and other contractual requirements
· Prepare reports to communicate status of contracts to project managers and department management staff.
· Evaluate contract performance, terms, expenditures, and deliverables
· Ensure contract compliance (PWS, FAR, and other federal and state regulations) and if necessary, may initiate corrective action
· Forecast and take action on necessary contract actions (modifications, COI, reps and certs, etc,.)
· Collaborate with other employees in the department, cross-functionally and with program personnel, and for establishing effective relationships with key customers
· Assist with financial tracking for all contracts via Unanet
· Complete closeout activities of assigned contracts in accordance with regulatory requirements
· Support Management Team with creating and maintaining SOPs and other department related policies
· Maintain an understanding of local and federal regulations that may affect contracts
· Use six sigma / lean methodologies to reduce inefficiencies and improve responsiveness
· Perform other duties as necessary.
Qualifications:
· BS/BA in a related field plus 4 or more years related experience.
· Government and Commercial (domestic and international desirable) contracts experience.
· A strong working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations Supplement (DFARS)
· Experienced with cost reimbursable, award fee and incentive fee contracts.
· Experience with Firm Fixed Price contracts.
· Strong communications skills, computer fluency, agile and effective negotiation skills with clear oral and written explanations.
· Ability to work a variety of complex issues at one time.
· Ability to be a leader with strong conflict resolution skills in a changing environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
· An In-depth knowledge of FAR and experience with different contract types.
· Experience working with Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) or other government agencies.
· Experience with business management software such as Unanet and Salesforce.
· Experience analyzing and negotiating complex agreements with customers.
· NCMA Certification (CPCM, CFCM and/or CCCM) or DAWIA
