Job Details:

Job Description:

Intel Foundry Construction and Sourcing (FCS) is at the heart of building the world's most advanced semiconductor manufacturing facilities. We are a team of passionate engineers, project managers, and construction professionals dedicated to delivering cutting-edge factories that power Intel's global technology operations. At Intel, we believe in pushing boundaries, fostering innovation, and creating a culture where safety, collaboration, and excellence are at the forefront of everything we do. Join us and be part of a team that is literally building the future of technology.

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Construction Tool Equipment Install Engineer to join our Project Execution Team at our Hillsboro, Oregon campus. In this role, you will serve as the primary Intel equipment owner from pre-design through SL2 Signoff, working closely with factory owners, suppliers, trade contractors, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure the seamless installation of semiconductor manufacturing tools and equipment. This is a hands-on, high-impact role that sits at the intersection of engineering, project management, and construction execution.

This is a fixed-term opportunity lasting approximately 12 months, with the potential for extension subject to the approval of both parties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Equipment & Delivery Management: Collaborate with factory owners and stakeholders to ensure tools, equipment, and kits are ordered and delivered in alignment with the Tool Install schedule. Track and resolve issues in a timely manner, escalating where required.

  • Stakeholder Representation: Represent the local FCS site in CTI and VF forums, acting as the primary point of contact for all equipment-related matters.

  • Financial Planning & Forecasting: Work with stakeholders to forecast equipment workload and funding requirements, ensuring alignment with FCS Financial Planning and Reporting Cycles. Ensure purchase orders and commitments are in place to meet program goals.

  • Systems & Configuration Management: Collaborate with EMS and Systems Owners to ensure systems accurately reflect equipment requirements and schedules. Drive systems and part number configuration, genealogy, and accuracy for RFT Order and Kits delivery.

  • Execution Planning & Coordination: Align all stakeholders to enable detailed execution planning supporting Tool Install Milestones. Lead planning and coordination meetings across multiple suppliers, trade contractors, and project stakeholders.

  • Supplier & Contractor Management: Work with suppliers to ensure business needs are understood and that equipment, materials, and resources are positioned to deliver services on time. Maintain awareness of commercial risks and contractor capacity to enable early course correction.

  • Compliance & Training: Ensure all stakeholders are trained, competent, and compliant with standard operating procedures and protocols.

  • Funding & Change Order Management: Request and process timely funding requests before work commences to prevent After-the-Fact Change Orders (ATFCOs).

  • Continuous Improvement: Review and incorporate cross-site learnings into Tool Install operations. Foster innovation by driving new methods and solutions through leveraging industry insights.

  • Safety Leadership: Build and champion a safety culture of caring across all business environments — from office settings to active construction sites — throughout the full project lifecycle.

  • Project Planning: Translate business and technical requirements into high-quality project plans that enable accurate and cost-effective delivery of scope.

  • Problem Resolution: Act as the primary Intel equipment owner from pre-design through SL2 Signoff, driving troubleshooting efforts to lean, decisive resolution to mitigate delays on assigned projects.

As a successful candidate, you must possess

  • Exceptional Communication: You can confidently manage discussions with executive leadership while also rolling up your sleeves to work through the details hands-on when needed.

  • Strong Leadership: You naturally champion a safety-first culture and inspire those around you to do the same, both on-site and in the office.

  • Collaborative Spirit: You thrive in a highly matrixed environment, building strong relationships with business partners and influencing outcomes without direct authority.

  • Decisive Problem-Solving: You have a talent for identifying challenges early, developing creative solutions, and driving decisions at pace.

  • Adaptability & Resilience: You remain calm under pressure, escalate constraints proactively, and help remove roadblocks to keep projects on track.

  • Innovation Mindset: You continuously look for ways to improve processes, challenge traditional practices, and bring fresh ideas to the table.

  • Planning & Organization: You are meticulous in your planning, ensuring all moving parts are aligned and that nothing falls through the cracks.

If you are passionate about semiconductor manufacturing, construction project execution, and making a tangible impact on the world's most advanced technology facilities, we want to hear from you!
