This role supports managed connectivity and data services opportunities across multi-dwelling communities, resorts, destination properties, larger hotels, hotel chains, hospitality portfolios, student housing, senior living, and other property-based environments.

This individual will partner with the Connected Properties Sales Manager and Account Executives to lead technical discovery, assess property requirements, and design right-sized solutions that support resident, guest, staff, operational, and smart-property needs. The Sales Engineer will help define the complete solution, including property-wide Wi-Fi, data services, internet access, bandwidth, network architecture, resiliency, security, implementation requirements, and ongoing support considerations.

What You Will Do to Contribute to the Company’s Success

Technical Sales Support & Discovery

  • Provide technical sales support to the Connected Properties Sales Manager and Account Executives throughout the sales process
  • Lead customer discovery sessions to understand business objectives, technical requirements, current challenges, property conditions, operational needs, growth plans, and measures of success
  • Engage property owners, developers, operators, management organizations, technology leaders, construction partners, and other key stakeholders
  • Translate customer requirements into clear technical recommendations and practical business outcomes
  • Identify technical risks, dependencies, information gaps, and implementation considerations early in the sales cycle

Connected Property Solution Design

  • Design right-sized managed connectivity solutions for multi-dwelling and hospitality environments, including in-unit or guest-room Wi-Fi, common areas, conference spaces, amenities, property offices, staff networks, and outdoor areas
  • Incorporate the appropriate data services, internet access, bandwidth, IP addressing, network architecture, segmentation, resiliency, and service requirements into each solution
  • Assess requirements for cameras, access control, building systems, IoT devices, property-management operations, and other connected-property technologies
  • Develop high-level wired and wireless network designs that consider property layout, coverage, capacity, device density, roaming, interference, security, redundancy, and future growth
  • Recommend right-sized solutions that balance customer experience, technical performance, implementation feasibility, supportability, and commercial considerations
  • Create technical configurations, bills of material, assumptions, solution recommendations, and supporting documentation for proposals and sales quotes

Site Assessment & Technical Validation

  • Coordinate and participate in remote and on-site property assessments, technical walkthroughs, and discovery meetings
  • Review available floor plans, property maps, construction documents, network diagrams, equipment locations, pathways, power availability, and existing infrastructure
  • Partner with Engineering, Construction, Operations, Product, and implementation teams to validate solution feasibility and identify build or installation requirements
  • Document technical assumptions, dependencies, exclusions, customer responsibilities, and required next steps
  • Support technical validation for new construction, retrofit, individual-property, multi-property, and portfolio opportunities

Customer Presentations & Solution Consultation

  • Conduct live and remote technical presentations, solution reviews, and product demonstrations
  • Explain complex networking, Wi-Fi, data services, and smart-property concepts to stakeholders with varying levels of technical experience
  • Develop customer use cases that demonstrate how Connected Properties solutions improve resident and guest experiences, simplify property operations, and support connected technologies
  • Participate in proposal presentations, technical evaluations, customer question-and-answer sessions, and solution negotiations
  • Build confidence with customer technical teams and decision-makers by providing accurate, clear, and practical guidance

Cross-Functional Coordination & Implementation Handoff

  • Partner with Sales, Product, Engineering, Construction, Operations, Customer Care, Project Management, Finance, and other teams to support successful customer outcomes
  • Ensure proposed designs, configurations, data services, and implementation requirements are complete and accurately reflected in customer proposals and internal documentation
  • Provide a disciplined technical handoff to implementation teams, including diagrams, assumptions, dependencies, service requirements, customer commitments, and open technical items
  • Remain engaged through key implementation milestones when technical clarification or design support is needed
  • Monitor recurring technical, product, or customer issues and escalate significant concerns to the appropriate teams

Sales Enablement & Continuous Improvement

  • Train sales associates on Connected Properties solutions, data services, technical discovery, positioning, and new offerings
  • Create sales enablement materials, technical guides, discovery tools, solution diagrams, reference architectures, and customer-facing presentations
  • Identify additional sales opportunities based on customer requirements, operational needs, property expansion plans, and solution gaps
  • Capture field feedback and recommend improvements to solution standards, technical processes, documentation, and enablement resources
  • Stay current on Sparklight services, networking and Wi-Fi technologies, connected-property trends, hospitality and MDU requirements, and relevant industry developments

Qualifications
