The compensation for this position will be $80,000 - $100,000. Exact compensation will be based on experience, education and location.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Procurement Analyst III - Commodities & Packaging serves as the lead analytical partner supporting global Packaging and Resin commodity strategies within a center-led procurement framework. The role is responsible for translating complex market intelligence, supplier economics, and organizational spend data into strategic recommendations that influence category direction, sourcing decisions, risk mitigation strategies, and executive decision-making.
The Procurement Analyst III independently leads highly complex analyses, develops advanced category insights, identifies strategic cost and risk opportunities, and serves as a trusted advisor to Category Managers and business leaders. The role influences category roadmaps, supports enterprise-wide initiatives, mentors junior analysts, and drives process improvements that enhance procurement effectiveness and business performance
RESPONSIBILITIES

Spend Analytics & Strategic Insights
Lead development of advanced spend analytics, predictive forecasting models, and opportunity assessments for Packaging and Resin categories.
Identify strategic sourcing opportunities through detailed analysis of spend patterns, supplier concentration, commodity trends, and market dynamics.
Provide executive-level insights on savings delivery, margin improvement opportunities, and category performance
Commodity Index & Market Monitoring:
Serve as the category team's subject matter expert on commodity market trends and economic drivers impacting resin and packaging materials.
Develop short-term and long-term market forecasts and scenario analyses to support sourcing and risk management decisions.
Present market intelligence and implications to Procurement leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
Strategic Cost Modeling
Lead development of advanced should-cost models, supplier economics analyses, and total cost ownership assessments.
Validate supplier cost structures and identify negotiation opportunities through detailed financial and operational analysis.
Support major sourcing initiatives and negotiations through quantitative analysis and fact-based recommendations.
Sourcing Strategy Support
Partner with Category Managers in development and execution of global category strategies.
Lead analytical workstreams for complex RFx events and strategic supplier evaluations.
Support supplier negotiations by developing leverage points, market analyses, and pricing models.
Evaluate and quantify sourcing scenarios, supply continuity risks, and business impacts.
Supplier Performance & Risk Management
Lead supplier performance analytics and risk monitoring activities.
Develop supplier performance scorecards and actionable improvement recommendations.
Assess supplier financial health, operational capabilities, capacity constraints, and geopolitical risk factors.
Support business continuity planning and supplier risk mitigation initiatives.
Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
Serve as a mentor and technical resource for Procurement Analysts and other team members.
Lead analytical process improvement initiatives and support standardization efforts across the procurement organization.
Partner with Finance, Operations, Planning, Quality, R&D, and Business Leadership to align procurement strategies with organizational objectives.
Support executive presentations and strategic business reviews.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related discipline.
- 5-7 years of progressive procurement, strategic sourcing, commodity management, supply chain, or financial analysis experience.
- Demonstrated experience independently leading complex analytical projects and influencing business decision-making.
- Experience supporting strategic sourcing initiatives, supplier negotiations, and category management activities.
- Proven expertise in spend analysis, cost modeling, commodity market analysis, and procurement performance reporting.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
- Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency (including pivot modeling and Power Query) and demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to data accuracy and integrity.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and e-procurement tools (e.g. Coupa, Ariba, Rosslyn, others).
- Proficiency with data visualization and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) to build dashboards and executive-ready reporting.
- Experience with AI tools to leverage data and action plans.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex market and cost data into concise, decision-ready insights.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- The ability to adapt to changing situations, new information, and unexpected challenges.
- APICS or ISM certification (e.g., CPIM, CPSM) is a plus.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Preferred location: Atlanta, GA; Richmond, VA and US based remote work.
- Ability to travel up to 10%.
- No environmental hazards indicated for this classification.
- Remote/Hybrid flexibility offered. The role requires periodic alignment with global time zones to support the global supply base and regional stakeholders.
