Sobre esta vaga de Collection Manager / Senior Manager na Ajaib
Founded to transform retail finance, Ajaib Group is an Indonesian fintech unicorn breaking barriers to financial access. Having recently secured a $270M Series C—the single largest funding round in Southeast Asia over the past four years—we are backed by premier global investors including Y Combinator, Ribbit Capital, SoftBank, and SBI Holdings.
Role overview
Trading Risk protects Ajaib and its customers from market, credit and counterparty losses across the platform. Leverage and loan products are embedded in every product we offer, so credit exposure shows up wherever customers trade: margin trading on stocks, leveraged positions, and lending features built into the investing journey.
This makes collection at Ajaib different from a standalone lender. Exposure moves with the market, collateral is liquid and volatile, and a delinquency can open and close within a trading day. You will build a collection function that works at that speed, combining automated margin-call and liquidation logic with human outreach for the cases that need judgement.
You will work closely with Credit Risk, Product, Engineering, Data, Customer Support, Legal and Compliance. At Senior Manager level, you will also lead a team of collection specialists and own collection outcomes at the leadership table.
Collection strategy and policy
- Design and own the collection strategy across all leverage and loan products, from pre-due reminders and margin calls through early, late and recovery stages.
- Write and maintain collection policies and SOPs: contact rules, escalation paths, restructuring and settlement criteria, forced-liquidation triggers and write-off thresholds.
- Segment the delinquent book by risk, balance, collateral cover and customer behaviour, and set a treatment path for each segment.
Margin calls and collateral
- Work with Trading Risk and Engineering to define margin-call thresholds, cure periods and liquidation rules that balance loss prevention with customer fairness.
- Monitor collateral shortfalls in real time during volatile markets and coordinate the response when many accounts breach at once.
- Own the handling of residual debt after liquidation, where collateral does not fully cover the loan.
Operations and channels
- Run day-to-day collection operations across in-app notifications, push, email, WhatsApp, SMS and calls.
- Build and test automated, data-driven contact strategies, including timing, channel mix and message content.
- Select, onboard and manage third-party collection agencies and legal partners, with clear SLAs, incentives and conduct audits.
Analytics and reporting
- Own collection KPIs: roll rates, cure rates, DPD buckets, recovery rate, cost to collect and net credit loss.
- Report collection performance and loss forecasts to the Head of Trading Risk and senior leadership.
- Feed collection insight back into credit limits, margin rules and product design so fewer accounts become delinquent in the first place.
Compliance and conduct
- Make sure every collection activity follows OJK regulations, consumer protection rules and data privacy law (UU PDP).
- Handle customer complaints and escalations linked to collection fairly and quickly.
- Keep complete audit trails for regulators, internal audit and external auditors.
People leadership (Senior Manager level)
- Hire, coach and lead a team of collection specialists and analysts.
- Set team targets, quality standards and a culture of firm but respectful collection.
Requirements
- 8+ years in collection, credit risk or recovery, including 3+ years leading teams.
- Hands-on experience running collection for digital lending, paylater, margin financing or securities-backed lending in Indonesia.
- A track record of measurably improving roll rates, recovery rates or credit losses, with numbers you can walk us through.
- Strong working knowledge of OJK regulations on collection, lending and consumer protection, and of how they apply to securities firms and fintech lenders.
- Comfort with data: you build and read dashboards, use SQL or Excel to segment portfolios, and run A/B tests on contact strategies.
- Experience managing third-party collection agencies and holding them to clear performance and conduct standards.
- Calm, structured decision-making under pressure, especially during sharp market moves.
- Fluent Bahasa Indonesia and professional working English.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business, statistics or a related field.
