Job Description:

Essentia Health is seeking a certified or non-certified ophthalmic assistant to serve in the ophthalmology practice at our South University Clinic in Fargo, North Dakota. This OA or COA works 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday. No weekend, holiday, or on-call rotations are required. This position is ideal for candidates who have experience in ophthalmology or optometry, or who have worked as a clinic care tech, PCT, nursing assistant, or in a similar role.

What You'll Do
Provides quality care to patients of all ages as defined in the ambulatory care nursing philosophy of Essentia Health. Performs tests and procedures and assists ophthalmologists or optometrists in providing quality eye care.

Wage Grades

Non-certified: $17.11 - $25.67

Certified: $19.28-$28.92

Licensure/Certification Qualifications:

• AHA Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required within 3 months of hire.
• Non-certified: JCAHPO certification as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant required within 1 year of hire or transfer.
• Certified: JCAHPO certification as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant required upon hire.
